I think farmers are suffering big time sobe , diversity of supply is whats sadly lacking in Ryan's quest.https://www.rte.ie/news/business/2022/0324/1288090-energy-security-crucial-to-investment-competitiveness/
When the rest of Europe wants to turn away from Russian sources of oil and gas , Ryan calls Barryroe a hundred to one shot.He should be challenged publicly on this assertion. At what stage do the coalition partners say enough is enough!
With talk of 200,000 refugees possibly coming to Ireland ,he'll promote cycling lanes for them to get around.Ryan is a one trick pony ,Barryroe is needed more than ever at a national and European level.
It use to be energy security for Ireland the argument went ,Ryan argued renewables. Now its a case of European energy security where Ireland could do its bit but Ryan argues more renewables and hydrogen. Ryan's renewable transition is costing this country dearly while his own department struggle to grant planning permission for wind farms due to 'environmental' concerns.
Of course all of this has nothing to do with the two bigger coalition parties in Government .....
Well Shen, looks like our PR lady really irks you being paid €81k as you seem to be in the PR game yourself being paid nothing / worthless.
Energy security has been highlighted by many with a broad outlook but firmly idealised by the Greens.Pat Rabbitte expressed just how serious energy security is when Russia invaded the Crimea back in 2014 https://m.independent.ie/business/world/ukraine-conflict-is-major-threat-to-irish-energy-says-rabbitte-30494314.html
Hi Sobe,
Thatcher had many many faults , but one of her tenets was to rely on market forces.Today in Ireland,1000 litres will cost €1480 while a tonne of coal to do the same heating costs €400 .
Energy security has been mentioned again and again on this board only to get current government lip service about no change in policy.
The huge planning to avert fuel poverty ,not just national,at a European collective level is not to export fossil needs from other countries but to be self sufficient in both at home.
Elon Musk
'Hate to say it, but we need to increase oil & gas output immediately.
Extraordinary times demand extraordinary measures.'
We need the IFA give Ryan a lash.https://www.agriland.ie/farming-news/government-must-come-to-its-senses-amid-energy-crisis-td/
Ironic that it's Ryan's department delaying.Fuel poverty might start to focus minds in the coalition.
More of the same ,

Yes so be,he mentions €350 million in Ukrainian aid from Europe ,while Ryans department spends €300 million on cycling and walkways this year.
Wacko politics .
Sorry Swizz , no sign of Ryan turning. The renewables mantra again and again.Time for the other coalition partners to speak up.
The recent storms blew a tree down near me and I watched over the days as several men arrived to hack the tree up for fuel. Energy poverty is happening in this country. When citizens can't afford gas ,electricity, and petrol ,why isn't PVR rattling the cage?
The Government published a policy document last May stating that the development of any LNG terminals in Ireland should not be permitted pending the outcome of a review into the security of energy supply of the country's electricity and natural gas systems,” Mr Ryan’s spokesperson told Independent.ie
Who is conducting this review?

"Europe needs to diversify it energy supply" - Ursula Von Der Leyen
As a shareholder Swizz I see the positives from this article. As a worker I see the taxpayer being shafted while we still import oil and gas that gives nothing BACK to the exchequer .
While Ursula van der leyen begs and borrows gas of any type to prevent high prices and energy poverty our greens want to dictate the type of gas that would keep many people warm and bring an LNG ban it into law. What a shower of self flagilating extremists!

Market Cap still 30 million plus.Makes you think that this thing still has legs when we get going.Plenty of seasoned business leaders holding tight.
Some arrogance going all the way to the supreme Court. What accountability will An Taisce now have?Who pays here? Who's head will roll like in the real world?Absolute echo chamber money wasters!
