Had a quick browse of the ECT ,the document that was used as a basis for Rockhoppers successful claim against the Italian Government.The international docucument was initially signed up to by the Irish government as far back as 1971..
The document does cover delays and also mentions transparency and good will be afforded to the investor company.
This might have all changed with global warming ? Nope!
It's worth a browse and very investor friendly.Heres a link from a news cutting which gives a flavour of some protections that energy companies get.Note that not just Rockhopper have used this legal contract.

The Greens here will say that Ireland can now export our subsidised wind power to France which puts a hole in their argument that excess wind power would be converted to hydrogen for storage!
