YesYes, we know the history spare us the lesson CC. All prime ministers of Italy are ''appointed'' by the President, but who do you think was pulling the Presidents strings in this case, especially at that time (2011) installing a Brussels commissioner?
He even refused to accept a Eurosceptic as finance minister recently after being directed by his superiors in Brussels, and don't forget this finance minister was appointed by a democratically elected government. Now, of course, it was well publicised at the time who would be the finance minister but the EU did what they always do, just let the election run and hope they don't get elected. Meanwhile, behind the scenes make preparations to interfere if necessary.
Can't be seen to interfere in the democratic process, but we still have influence afterwards to suit our goals.

You believe what you want CC but the majority know different. No amount of debate will change your view of the EU as you are so entrenched in your beliefs, pity really that you're on the wrong side of the argument.

Even though each member is appointed by a national government, one per state, they do not represent their state in the Commission.
