"This is a common tactic, present figures, (in this case import/export) and make the assumption that, in this case, all trade will cease after Brexit"
This is often quoted to the gullible by the 'remoan' fearmongers Crowcast. It might not be anywhere in any sensible media as you say, but it originated in the remain camp.
''On the other hand, leavers very commonly claim to leave the EU will "let us trade" with the rest of the world under WTO .. as if we can not now. That is real nonsense as we are free to trade under WTO with better terms inside than outside already.''
Wrong again CC, favourable terms, (set by who, not the UK) you obviously don't believe the EU is a protectionist trading block, not to mention a corrupt one.
But of course, businesses are complaining, that's the ones with the loudest voice and incidentally the most money to lobby the government and influence decisions. Usually, they know they are on a winner as many in government retire to a cushy job in the city or some multinational, however, it's not so easy this time as the people have spoken, and those in government don't like it.
That's another reason we're in this mess MP's trying to appease their future masters and keep the electorate sweet.
Another remoan favourite is 'nobody voted to be poorer' I don't give a monkeys how much it's going to cost us because I know long after we're gone our grandchildren will be raising a glass and giving thanks to the foresight the UK showed 'back in the day' providing we can withdraw from the unholy mess that is slowly unfolding accross the channel.
Actually, it probably won't be before we've departed. You know deep down Crowcast that the current EU set up is doomed to failure, why on earth would anyone want to hang on to that mess? People in Europe are beginning to realise it, its just that we had a chance and took it first.
Where the UK leads others will follow.
Have a good weekend all.
