British businesses will be able to continue bidding for global public sector contracts worth an annual £1.3 trillion once the UK leaves the EU, the government has announced.

The World Trade Organization confirmed on Wednesday that 46 nations including the US, Canada and Japan have voted to let Britain stay in the Government Procurement Agreement, which governs £1.3tn worth of annual public procurement opportunities.
According to the Department for International Trade, the UK will join the GPA as an independent member in the event of a no-deal Brexit. This means British businesses will be able to continue overseas bidding for public sector contracts on almost the same terms as they do now.
Beware all negativity from remainers. Just another piece of positive news missed by remoaners,, nothing to fear from a WTO Brexit.

I'm afraid the snowflakes are going to create exactly that, that's why politics today is leaning towards the right.
In fact it's already happening in some UK regions, battling for control of city areas, but I don't expect you live nearby.

Yeah snap! That was just my interpretation of treasury/cancelled shares, maybe some tax/accounting benefits who knows?

Seems I've missed this morning's rally, as at this moment I'm a "non shareholder."

Whilst buybacks should benefit shareholders I can't see the difference between treasury shares and cancelled shares, once held in treasury they receive no dividend and have no voting rights.
I guess Ivan's benefit will be the same as ours in that we should all benefit through an increase in the SP.
My understanding is that once held in treasury they have no asset value, so in Ivan's case 9% of nothing is nothing. They can be reissued later, at a higher price maybe but surely that's exactly the same as say a normal share issue.
I guess its easier to reinstate treasury shares than issue new ones which a company would have to do if the treasury shares are cancelled and they need to raise more capital.
I can't see how Mr Glasenberg will benefit more than other shareholders only on a bigger scale through the size of his holding.

Surge in Irish businesses applying for post Brexit UK access.

Ireland’s tax authority said on Wednesday that there had been a dramatic surge in traders applying for a key registration number that will allow them to trade with the UK after Brexit.

Figures released by the authority showed that, compared to the entire month of January, there had already been a 330% increase in applications in February for the number.

Seems they know which side their bread is buttered.

You sometimes get a message, kind of explaining the error of your ways.
They don't have to be, shall we say obnoxious/rude/ aimed at someone in particular/bad language/ or even market sensitive. Sometimes political observations upset them, I guess it depends on the contents.
