I was able to book a flu jab and a Covid booster jab for the coming week at local pharmacies using the NHS online facility. Meanwhile, I have received messages from my GP practice offering the same.

Past experience has taught me that the former online method is the easiest and most convenient way to get an appointment at my preferred date and time.

I believe that we have been down this particular road before without any success. Prof Sir Peter Horby, and the Oxford cabal chose to dismiss us at the time.

At this point in time, I trust Synairgen to get a deal (US Strive, or BP JV) over the line.

The company has achieved as much as I could have hoped for since February, and there is still some more to follow.

I agree with Docdaneeka. If the US Government, or BP, don’t have Synairgen in their sights by now, their researchers have missed several tricks in recent months . I remain optimistic about the situation.

I have been questioning the veracity of articles in various newspapers of late? Both extracts that I quoted from the DT mostly contain numbers and statistics which are relatively easy to fact check. It is when the media offer unverifiable opinions that my doubts are raised? For example, yesterday, the NYT politicised an article when discussing the virus spread and its containment in the US.

Recently, I have been trying to get to grips with a simple book about statistical theory in order that I may be able to analyse raw data, and form my own conclusions. I will get there eventually.

The diagnosis and treatment of this serious prolongation, and escalation in many cases, of Covid symptoms is a cause for major concern. Synairgen could well help to moderate the symptoms if the treatment is applied at the early onset of symptoms? IMHO, it could play an important role in suppressing the virus onset through reducing its spread to organs and tissues where the infection results in symptoms which persist over long periods of time?

The recent RNS giving Synairgen’s PASC data showed promise. I look forward to Richard Marsden’s upcoming presentation later this month, when further insights may emerge from this qualitative data?

The following short extract from a DT article illustrates the extent of the problem. Expert opinion suggests that further exploratory Synairgen trials are justified. I hope that BP will take note?

“Long Covid is likely to be adversely affecting the day-to-day activities of 1.6 million people - nearly three-quarters of those with self-reported long Covid - with 342,000 saying their ability to undertake day-to-day activities has been "limited a lot", the ONS found.

“A new Covid-19 wave appears to be brewing in Europe as cooler weather arrives, with public health experts warning that vaccine fatigue and confusion over types of available vaccines will likely limit booster uptake.

Omicron subvariants BA.4/5 that dominated this summer are still behind the majority of infections, but newer Omicron subvariants are gaining ground. Hundreds of new forms of Omicron are being tracked by scientists, World Health Organization (WHO) officials said this week.

WHO data released late on Wednesday showed that cases in the European Union (EU) reached 1.5 million last week, up 8 per cent from the prior week, despite a dramatic fall in testing. Globally, case numbers continue to decline.

Hospitalisation numbers across many countries in the 27-nation bloc, as well as Britain, have gone up in recent weeks.

In the week ended October 4, Covid-19 hospital admissions with symptoms jumped nearly 32 per cent in Italy, while intensive care admissions rose about 21 per cent, compared to the week before, according to data compiled by independent scientific foundation Gimbe.

Yesterday’s TR-1 was what I had hoped when high value trades followed the Activ-2 announcement.

Since then, I have read several contributions on this forum regarding what might happen in the future? This time around, I am not getting carried away about the various possibilities. Recent announcements, including yesterday’s have been positive, without exception. There has been no serious market reaction yet? Perhaps that will soon follow? It still puzzles me why the recent company statement, with no unexpected updates, resulted in a significant fall in Synairgen’s MCap? Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to take advantage of that situation. I had previously doubled down on my investment at an average share price of 23.5p, and that was that as far as my holding was concerned.

From here onwards, I will resort to an entirely pragmatic approach as regards my Synairgen investment. My selfish hope at the present time is for a BP acquisition at a fair price bearing in mind the intrinsic value that has undoubtedly been added to the company by Synairgen’s initiatives since last February. I lack the knowledge and skill set to suggest a value for my investment. All I know is that a share price of 83p will result in a full return of my investment. Anything in excess will result in profit.

I sincerely hope that all LTIs will achieve a good result in relation to their investments in the future.

TFG Asset Management seem to have gone under the radar recently. It would be another positive sign if they added to their current 27% holding.

When is their periodic review meeting with Synairgen due? Some small companies have a representative from their major shareholders on their BOD. Is there any likelihood of that happening with Synairgen, (bearing in mind that this is increasingly looking like a longer term investment)?

Although I would favour an acquisition at the current time, the JV route would offer investors a better return in the long term. Nothing is guaranteed, but my optimism is well justified as a result of the recent cluster of positive news.

It is hardly surprising that this thread originated from a green rectangle. I have learned a hard lesson last February from paying too much attention to advice given on bulletin boards. This forum is a valuable information source, and I am grateful to all contributors for sharing relevant research .

Manifesto. You have literally iterated my most optimistic forecast. A £1bn acquisition would result in mostly smiling faces from this forum’s contributors.

For the time being Docdaneeka’s comment is well in touch with reality. Synairgen does need a P3 equivalent trial by whatever means and as soon as it can be managed. The company has done everything possible to try and ensure that this comes to pass. If all else failed, I would support the company in another cash raise. The supporting evidence is to be found in the recent portfolio of analysed data compiled by Synairgen. I remain hopeful that BP will take note, resulting in either a JV or an acquisition?

The following link is from a recent contribution on the advfn board. Will the relevant UK government sector follow the initiative shown by its US counterpart? Importantly, will they get their research and accompanying strategy completed ahead of the next major incidents?

Effective preparation ahead of time would lessen the impact on NHS services, and importantly save lives. Eventually, Synairgen could have a role to play in this? Does the company have links with government advisers?

An acknowledgment of Synairgen as a respected authority on the subject, closely following on from World Lung Day on 25 Sept. This is publicity of the calibre that Synairgen needs for wider recognition of its calibre, and future potential in the respiratory infections space.

Nearly a year ago, Synairgen was valued in excess of £400m. Since then, the company has amassed a portfolio of very promising analysed trial data, and the process is still ongoing.

Collaboration with a large pharmaceutical company to rapidly complete a P3 equivalent trial and move SNG001 towards commercialisation could well restore Synairgen’s value to its previous level.

Agreed Alpha-dog. Just under a year ago the company’s MCap was at values between x10 to x11 of what it is today. If anything, the data that Synairgen has amassed since then should add value in the longer term.

Currently, we are lacking a defined route to commercialisation. When this is established, by whatever means, the share price should be restored to a considerably higher level than today.

Are these big trades BUYS at 16.26p? Taking into account recent developments, it would make more sense if they were?

Roughly 2.25m shares (approximately 1% of the company) have been sold, mostly in large chunks, this morning?

Why sell now, at the current price, following the recent influx of positive results and data? Does anyone have an idea as to why this is happening?

Another positive piece of evidence. Everything that has emerged over the last seven months has added to Synairgen’s case for a P3 equivalent trial. Any BP company contemplating a JV with Synairgen would now be able to proceed with an excellent chance of a positive outcome.

I was invested in a technology company a few years ago, and it’s share price plummeted to unprecedented lows. The CEO left by mutual consent, and was replaced by the CFO. In recent weeks the share price was at x6 to x8 of its value when the previous CEO departed. The company is awaiting the outcome of a patent infringement case against a massive technology company. If successful, there will be a further substantial increase to the share price. Sometimes, a change of leadership at the top can be a catalyst for improvement.

In Synairgen’s case the blame for last February’s trial cannot rest entirely with Richard Marsden. His integrity is beyond question. He trusted his colleagues to get the job done; they fell short on that occasion. RM has made the right calls since then IMHO. We can only wait and see what happens as a result?

As someone who is anti-social media in principle, I have gone against my better judgement and opened a twitter account.

This was mostly to access information about my investments and interests, while avoiding the worst aspects of the platform.

All the latest Synairgen information appears in a cluster. A convenient way of keeping in touch with what is going on. It reinforces my belief that the company is doing everything possible to recover from what has been mostly a bleak year for the share price. I am surprised that there haven’t been any developments as a result of this positive activity ? Perhaps these will follow in due time?

I would selfishly prefer an acquisition at a fair price at this stage. My second choice would be a JV, with Synairgen maintaining a firm hand on the tiller throughput a necessary P3 equivalent trial. A Strive invitation would be a triumph at this point in time, but would Synairgen want another long wait for an outcome? It is unfortunate that the Activ-2 P2 trial, and the reneged promise of a progression to P3, has resulted in a seemingly endless saga. Would a Strive trial be any different bearing in mind the NIH’s priorities?
