Agreed dougie.not sure I've got the maths quite right but i think i would personally need a 1500% increase from here to break even on my last investment here (made a significant profit on the first foray so would probably break even overall if we went up 700%). i suppose 700% is not impossible from this position,but 1500% would be going it. i was just seeking to emphasise the potential for significant price movements on any real volume,but for those of us in similar positions,we would need ultra significant movement of the order outlined. that is the sad reality.i do, however, think it not impossible to get some of my investment back on the right news over time, which is my objective.

Morning bignose.another demonstration of the potential for very significant moves(either way of course) on any real volume.volume continues be tiny in value terms, so if we ever do get any substantial news i would expect a significant upturn, albeit from our lowly current value.

Afternoon bignose and dougie. agree we should get profit warning before interims(last year interims on 30th august,announced on 18th aug).im also hoping for an update before the profit warning ,particularly with respect to the SPA, but as always time will tell.

Kelso's trading update dated this morning uses the word "currently" to describe the 8m shares held,which is the same number as the previous update. are people saying they think keslo increased yesterday but the additional shares have yet to be included in the total held? not really following the reasoning here.

Personally not particularly worried by there being, as yet, no US partner.bearing in mind it took over a year to agree the cooper tie up from the c/e mark award, im not sure we should be too worried yet. as it has only been a few weeks since FDA approval.whilst im sure fum have been in some form of discussions with possible us partners for some time (they have said as much in formal announcements) i'm personally not sure that they would have wanted to reach contingent agreements based on condition of getting FDA approval. if i were seeking to conduct negotiations i would wish to have the strongest possible negotiating weapons in my armoury,i.e. formal fda approval,before taking the discussions to a serious and advanced level. it seems to me it's the difference between saying 'well now chaps,if we get FDA approval what would you be willing to do?"and "ok chaps,we have formal fda approval for our product,what terms are you prepared to offer to secure our involvement?".

the differing views expressed by other today are perfectly reasonable and tenable and im certainly no expert in such matters,but for the moment i'm very comfortable with the progress so far.all just my opinion of course.

Fair enough Kdonkey.i don't have a strong view either way.just felt that if there has been persistent selling down by LO at any significant level we might have expected an RNS by now.im not particularly bothered if they have been selling down as there could be any number of reasons for that,some not necessarily directly related to their view on fum"s prospects. anyway time as usual will probably tell. hope the hangover is improving! imo

As at 19th june LO had 28.5%, so selling (or buying) 1/2% would require reporting. that is somewhere between £800,000 and £900,000 as a rough estimate, so not a huge figure in the overall scheme of things. my point really is just that any change in their position, albeit of a relatively modest amount, would result in a reporting requirement, but as yet nothing has been notified, so not sure they are necessarily the putative background seller. just musing of course.
