Yes would agree with that.when i posted about uk inflation fum were 4%down,but now flat,so hoping for blue day by cop.

Actually just looked at uk main markets and they are hardly down,so perhaps today's drop on fum is just profit taking after recent rise.still confident in long term potential now after FDA approval.

Morning bignose.yes good day on fum yesterday,today not so much im afraid.uk inflation figure out.unchanged which is a real shock.not really directly relevant to FUM,but no doubt creating a very negative market sentiment.will be interesting to see what response is to the investor and retail events in next few days.

Morning bignose.at end of march they said working towards completing SPA by end of Q2. so hopefully news one way or the other by middle to end of july.can't see how they can avoid informing market of outcome,so tense time now imo.

Fair enough bignose.i suppose i was thinking in terms of further dilution through a formal placing or another rights issue.if it looks as though funds will be coming in at the end of the day(albeit a while away)jim might be prepared to go down the loan route for operating expenses,rather than a share issue,but we can only guess at what his attitude might be. i agree that he won't sub the p111,so if no spa and no licence then not looking good for usa,imo.

Personally not bothered at all by the reporting mistake. these things do happen. far more interesting is the fact that LO have significantly increased their percentage holding by over 2.5%. strong vote of confidence imo. obviously we don't know what they may do over the course of time, but as we speak it seems extremely positive.

Afternoon bothwell and bignose. can't argue with anything bignose says. im personally probably a tad less optimistic about china ,but this is just based on past disappointments.i do think that with the s/p so low.any sort of good news on the china front could(and hopefully will)have some sort of geared impact,particularly if it carries the suggestion that we can avoid another funding round. i agree that it is sensible to discount any positive effect from USA,unless we get positive news re an SPA.my worry here is that if we are informed that the SPA procedure has failed,then we may have to accept that the us is never going to happen, as i'm not clear as to what alternative routes might be available in the absence of an SPA, which might at least give a potential partner an incentive to consider a licence with the knowledge of the probable cost of the process. i'm assuming they will have to update the market at least in the next profit warning,so perhaps middle of june.it is going to be a pretty critical time imo.

Agreed canary.i don't have a strong view either way.ive never been involved in corporate activity of this nature personally and the legal framework regarding "insider "trading is,im sure,very involved.still it"s a valid exercise in speculation.

Not sure that is the point,Binky.i would imagine it would depend on what information they were given.for example,if they were told that we think the bid should be rejected because we expect to be in a position to proceed with x alternative course of action in 4 months time,or something of that sort,then the "inside" nature of that info would, imo, persist until that course of action had materialised or become obsolete.just my opinion and could well be wrong.

Agreed bignose. i think if they fail to get an SPA then it will probably be game over as far as US is concerned.surely there must have been some movement one way or the other since the last announcement. as always only time will tell.

Morning bignose.yes the consolidation has proved so far to be less of a shot in the arm and more of a bullet to the heart. hopefully not fatal, but certainly not looking good. the lack of any news re position on SPA is particularly frustrating. oh well,next week is another week.

In the final results 11 days ago they were talking about Hokkaido being incorporated into an SPV, subject to a satisfactory conclusion. this must have come as areal surprise to them then!
