We are due an update on the Regal Dissenting shareholders payment tomorrow. Incidentally, the covenant test is also due. They were probably hoping to have enough money on hand to juggle around these things in the background.

Hopefully, with around 950M US Boxoffice, with UK and ROW revenue we can get a positive RNS.

It is amazing how a 900M US domestic June month failed to swing the SP of cinema chains not named AMC. The month is at least 80% of pre pandemic but SP barely budged. The market may be risk off due to being burned by pandemic hype stocks and/or interest rate hikes.

The execs are extremely quiet this month. We did not get any RNS other than saying the H1 earnings will be sept instead of the usual Aug. Every bit of news we had to ask IR.

Derampers had nothing to gloat over and they must be tired of rehashingh their old BS.

Oct 12-13 for appeals hearing. News came from Cineplex CEO.

Plex may just be unwilling to negotiate. They are in their home court and the first judgement swung so wide on their way.

Or CINE may just be very confident with their lawyers and the appeals process.

Lookup some canadian lawfirm opinion with the subject. I posted one a couple of months ago.

You see how nonsensical the synergies as damages decision was. The judge used cineplex's 2nd highest calculation on how much CINE would make if they own cineplex and asked for it in cash in one day.

My thinking is even if the decision stands, the damages is subject to change and further negotiation. Anything lower than the 782M, which is already priced in will be a win for CINE.

Some people fail to understand how a company makes money and mocks anyone happy with the increased foot traffic and revenue.

Boxoffice is on track to 900m-1B in June. Hopefully, cine will be close enough to 80% revenue target and the SP will follow suit.

I am happy to tell you that you are currently in one. It is just that nobody knows when the bottom is. Like you, I also started investing in Apr 2020. I got lucky and saved enough for downpayment for a small flat.

You can either index and pound cost average until this all blows over, or you can do your research and pick companies where you have strong conviction on recovery. If not, you may be wasting precious time to research.

The apple thing is a fluke and will only work with the benefit of hindsight.

The RCF have shorts tied to them as leverage. If some of them gets paid off , the shorts can then be closed right? It will not hurt to see the stock be priced more in-line with revenue.

1. The court decision was a surprise-It was 'unorthodox' and is the 1st of its kind. It will be studied for years to come. It is not your fault you are on the losing side of it. Appeal pending.

Higher total addressible market means higher revenue per market share.

The pandemic is pretty much over in all CINE territories.
Thee travel sector is still down due to fuel and safety concern, but cinema is on a pathway back to profitability. Just seat back and grab a popcorn.

Thats 120% higher than the other pointless deramper.

My advice to anyone who can see the future is to short it. There are lots of brokers letting you short- with leverage to boot.

So the current possibilities are:

A. They tried to get a waiver/refinance and failed.
B. They got a waiver/refinance but does not announce it yet.
C. They are working on getting 35% Utilization. (Free up around 300M cash)
D. Hoping to do C but has a waiver in the running.

As I said earlier, the deadline for settlement for Regal shareholders worth 79M was 30 June 2022. This is unfortunate timing because this has the same deadline as the covenant test.

If I was unable to pay for something, I would get a waiver, or refinance quite a bit sooner to remove uncertainty. Both would be disastrous to the SP but deletes the posibility of default.

They may be going for Option C. If they have been doing the other two, they would announce something thru RNS by the end of June.

Short it to 4p if you are so sure it will drop. Then close the shorts and go long. Easiest way to make money.

Bankruptcy is a far off idea against a recovering revenue. Mooky has always said Cine has good relationships with the creditors. Read earlier RNS. Waivers are already on the table.

I think the Fed and BoE gave some news about interest rates. Nothing Cine specific.
