If Cine loses, the amount to pay is still subject to change. The three judges will decide if 'synergies' is the appropriate amount of damages.

Either way, Cine will put plex at the back of the debt pile and carry on unless a settlement i.e. lower amount is agreed. Not even Plex investors agree that cineplex will get the entire 1.2B Cad. It is reflected on their SP.

The SP is also bogged down by the general market sentiment and the fact that travel and leisure etfs contain cinema. Court case can give it a little boost but stocks have always been about earnings for me.

We will probably have to wait til August to get a clearer picture.

It looks like whitebox advisors increased their short position by another 0.04 percent. Could explain a bit of the pullback from today. We also shouldn't discount the traders who took profits after an upswing.

I would say a lot of people lost money on the way down from $60 in AMC.

AMC is overbought due to the meme stock phenomena. I cannot seem to get a more valuation and outlook like I can with CINE. All things considered.

There are rumors of Knives Out 2 going into theaters first. They will probably announce the partnership and cement the 45 Day window.

Netflix is not short on budget, talent, and production value to compete with other Studios. They will be a Streaming Service with a Film Studio instead of a Studio trying to get a piece of the streaming pie. That way, they will not have to exploit current subscribers, myself included, as their sole source of revenue. Ads is out of the question.

Likely a win-win for Cinema and Netflix if it happens.

I just do not pretend to know better than someone who was raised to lead and owns a giant multinational company. But I guess you are smarter than those CEO's and Finance Graduates. Good for you. I still agree with how he made those decisions and the ones he continues to make. I will not have done better except with the power of hindsight.

I do not think you understand how much CEO's get paid. You might have to work on not being envious of other people's achievements. Also, Mooky has more to lose than his salary. Look up how much of the stocks is under his, his brother, and his family's name.

The chances of CINE paying the entirety of the 1.2B CAD fee is very low. Both CINE and CPLEX has put out an alternative estimate for damages, IF, and that is still largely uncertain, IF CINE loses.

However, if CINE wins this and Plex gets offered a lower amount, they will make a new appeal and this can will be even further down the road.

The decision is expected to be Q1 or Q2 2023. By that time CINE will have had two positive earnings and deleveraged enough with enough liquidity to handle anything. Just sit back and grab your popcorn.

And Squid, keep on rooting for the monkeypox. Don't change.

Shorts have infinite risk. And the cost of borrowing makes it hurt even more.

I am confident CINE will post a positive earnings on August and give us a plan for cutting down debts. On the court case side, i have read the appeal and am more confident the three appeals judges will not give an unorthodox or extraordinary decision.
