We had omicron up until Jan or Feb and releases kept being held back (Top Gun,Morbius). Studios still need time to churn out new releases.

The last decade was incredibly strong with Marvel's Phase 1 culminating into 1st quarter 2019 with Endgame.

In the meantime, the streaming hype has passed. We are now living with Covid, without restrictions, instead of hunkering inside our homes, and new releases from known franchises are lined up for summer.

So we seat at 50-60% YOY. No no big deal since we catch up with the rest of the year's earnings.

What is missing is that 2020 and 2021 will show horrendous revenue and even losses. But it will also show an upward trend in earnings. Nobody expected this to hit 2019 earnings overnight. We just thought the we can recover given some time.

We just passed the lull period after december and we are approaching the summer blockbuster season. The lineup looks good and we are no longer putting all our hopes on one movie making it big. Let's just sit back and enjoy the show.

Streaming has reached saturation point. Netflix's only options are to increase subscription price, to incorporate ads, or to crack down on account sharing. All of which are double edged swords.

I invested in Carnival when the pandemic started held on through a few months of -30% but came out on top by some 12 grand after 1 year.

I am down on Cine right now but i just keep averaging down. The recovery is still on track, and as LTH here keeps saying, one good RNS will flip this share. One court case settlement, US Listing news, one new whale investor/buyout etc. The last thing anyone would want is to sell at the bottom.

If you cannot hold a share for 10 years, do not hold it for 10 minutes.

Even netflix has something to gain from restricting their high budget films through cinema for the first several weeks. I thought they were making some progress with that.

Live, shared experiences has and can coexist with home viewing. Think concerts vs listening to the radio. Netflix/streaming fans needs to stop thinking they should kill CINEMA to be profitable.

The film snobs are few and far in between. Box office is all about the number of tickets.

You may look down on people enjoying their afternoons with those simpleton storytelling in their comicbook movies, but that do not make you a better person. Some people just wants a movie to help them enjoy the afternoon/ evening. It does not need to be a storytelling masterpiece.

So many bears came out from hibernation i think they missed the news that the pandemic is over for territories that has the most Cine screens.

All stocks are suppressed by the crisis following a war, but Cinema has always been strong during a crisis.

Lenders will almost definately give Mooky another waiver because Cine going bankrupt is as bad for them as it is for Cine. Recovery is better for the lender because they will be sured they will be paid in full, with continued interest.

Cine share has stayed 20-25% above the lowest point and the only way is up.

Settl8ng with Cineplex would absolve them of being unsecured debtors. Not even cineplex holders think the full price can and will be paid at any point.

The fine is a placeholder to the appeal's result, if any at all.

In the coming weeks? Not really. Cine still needs to prove it can survive a liquidity crunch. If interest on current debts increase, Cine will be strapped for cash once again. By September, cine will have proven bankruptcy is not in the table.

The website I linked shows who borrowed from Interactive Brokers(where trading 212 does their business). There were 2 million shares to borrow from December last year. Shorts jumped on the share on the Court case result.

Right now there is 50k shares to borrow. That's that's 1.95m buys if shorts think it is no longer worth their while to wait for the stock to dip some more before exiting. They will still come out with profit if they shorted while we were at 47p.

I recently moved all my shares from Trading 212 invest into ISA. That way they cannot lend my shares. This also means I do not know how much borrowing is happening. So i checked around and it looks like the cost to borrow CINE shares is around 14.4%.

Market cap is BS valuation anyway. P/E is king.

The shorts have arrived on a red day like clockwork. They even ignore the fact that the drop is caused by general market sentijment and not specific to CINE.

No wonder Squid is close to Putin considering he's a bear.

I think somebody just learned the word NAV today and is excited to apply it to all the stocks.
