CINE agreed to purchase Plex on the condition that it maintains certain financial 'health'. Cine insisted that Plex deviated from ordinary course to do so.

I do not think elon stipulated in their buyout how many bots he was promised.

Short and distort exists, and as you say is hard to prove. Shorters will also gain at best a slap in the wrist and a tiny fine for breaking the rules. And that would be years upon years after they've made profit. They even got a waiver for a margin call at one point-but that's beside the point.

Distorting SP for personal gain goes both ways. **Cough, cough ELON cough. And they will always end up costing someone holding the bag. At one point, someone bought TSLA at 1,200 USD and was hoping for a 5000USD price in 5 years.

For reference AMC is 65x P/e. Gamestop is negative P/E, and Tesla is a measly 200 P/e after losing 45% from its peak.

I don't think he thinks of shorters at all. He has a company to run. If he is, he would be making tweets like adam aron or ryan cohen. Doing stock splits and making abrasive statements months ahead of earnings report.

The war on 'shorters' is a crowd mentality social media phenomena trying to justify a singular enemy. They are trying to herd the crowd into putting money on an overpriced stock so the 'shorters' will lose money. All the while retail herd lose theirs.

As for the financials, they put out semi annual finance reports. Read up on fundamentals like free cash flow model, price per sales model, ebitda, or price to earnings.

Try not to buy into hype and do not buy magic internet money that does not have a revenue earning company behind it.

That is what I am thinking at the moment as well. Calculatingg a 42% premium like last time Cineplex Market cap 702M +42% is ~1B CAD. That is still lower than the synergies(lol).

Another misconception for us shareholders is the idea that in some way, the sp is affecting the company's operations.

The only time SP is important is if they need to raise funding. Something they do not need and have no plans to do. Cine have zero treasury shares.

Same goes with cineplex. If they already have a proper earning business, the bad news of losing the appeal will still loom over their head and they may want to settle for a smaller stack of cash at some point.

CW can take them to UK court since the Canada judgement is not enforceable to a UK company. All CINE has in canada is an entity it created for the acquisition.

If CINE wanted to play fair, it can offer a payment plan, as you said, it can borrow again from lenders, or it can dilute shareholders. They have not done the latter even during the pandemic.

The market did not price in a 1.2Billion cash injection into Cineplex Sp. That means the judgment was not as good as cash. Currently analysts price in 25% chance that full price for the court case will be awarded after the appeal. See Allkap's posts.

Current estimates run 3.7B revenue this year and up to 4B next year when studios catch up with production. 2022 will be around 80% of 2019 in terms of revenue but SP is down disproportionately more.

What I or anyone says or does in this forum has no effect on the SP. It is a delusion and a mere psychological quirk.

Calling it right or wrong only works on hindsight. That is another psychological bias by people who got lucky or ignore the times he/she is wrong.

I make judgment based on available data at the time. Some things are unexpected and those come with taking risks. Did you even read the article? Just past the headline CITADEL has more short than long on Boohoo. The SP did not even flinch on the news. Just another short position for Citadel. I expect another damning short report soon.

So the great prophet already forecasts the future? Not only are you sure of the court case, which hasn't started, you forecast what they would do despite other options or possibilities. Put your money where your mouth is.

The largest sign of confidence is a company that did not dilute shareholders in the middle of a pandemic. Did not need a bailout, did not give execs a fat bonus at the cost of shareholders-looking at Adam Aron. Stocks are your share of the company's future profits. Cinema is en route to recovery by 2023. The current Sp is an opportunity.
