Jacobs mcap is over £12bn and for an enterpise value of around £1.5bn they can easily acquire Wood - so why not? Great order book , clients and workforce.

Does anyone recall the RNS that kicked this off indicating it was just one part of the business , since closed and therefore it was just a case of working through some projects? Now it seems more endemic - have I misunderstood - views welcome?

Foxestocks, I did used to work for a part of this company - left about 10 years ago. At the time Amec, who were a big multinational group were merging with Foster Wheeler - anothe big multinational group and that entity subsequently became part of Wood. Each of those three were world class engineering companies carrying out work all over the world. I am really surprised it is in such trouble and can only think that following those mergers someone somewhere bought a load of work on fixed prices. That would not have happened at Amec imv when I was there- not because of me but because the governance around contracts.

It looks to me like the market has decided the statements about cash and cost cutting have saved the sp from further falls. The order book with the blue chip clients and an improving Oil and gas sector lead me to believe this will be taken over soon - there is lots of value here . To re hash a quote about BP - some great assets hidden under a swamp of management.

Mary, I will add sub 40 because the £1bn debt and £300 mcap gives a low enterprise value for the current order book . In fact the current sp is low but as you point out the problem is credibility. I think the ceo has to go because this company is fundamentally in the world of consulting so why spend £10m on an external review - wtf is the CFO and his department doing ? The review should be more in house and speedy and the CEO has to take accountability and earn his salary imv.

I have read both BBC articles and it is clear that her expenses claims , even if in line with company policy attracted income tax accordance to HMRC rules. She even had the audacity to question the company on the guidelines. How can she possibly be left in charge of HMRC and expect the UK population to comply? MSM does not seem to be linking those issues = yet.

At this mcap company will be a sitting duck for the likes of jacobs to acquire.

I think the difference is Wood problems are incompetence rather than corruption - which makes future work more difficult.
