Forwood, great analysis but there is the £200m pension surplus - how does that factor in?

The market has really fallen out of love with UK retailers in general and JD in particular just now. RR is on fire today and whilst it is a bigger company , with a technological advantage its growth prospects going forward are not that much better than JD's imv but our p/e multiple is pitiful in comparison.

Stig you will get paid £500 - not sure how it will affect you - depends what you do with it!

The fact his esperience is in corportae finance activities rather than Oil and Gas means this is only going one way imv.

Blow out results but the returns going forward dont seem to justify a much higher sp imv. We shall see. closing 650p is my guess.

Good Post Bandit, to which I would add, the CEO must know he is toast - so he can accept a deal, get a payoff and a bonus and walk with a better reputation than to be sacked for incompetence and less money. I just hope the Chairman has spelled that out to him.

For me the two big unknowns are the outcome of the audit work and whether they can grab the £200m pension fund surplus - both those could affect the sp by 100p as i see it.

Cutting foreign aid by granting asylum to half of those in hotels and cutting back on that spend by central government and putting it on local councils instead? It is an outrage that so called foreign aid is spent at the local holiday in and on smart phones and football tickets but this is the UK under shambolic labour and Tory governments.

I think the real point is that the sp will get a lift if/when we learn that the aquifier problem is resolved and the decline continues. Meanwhile with the POG as it is we are being priced on our Telfer production and prospects which are significantly better now than when the deal was done.

Now we are a miner , when the big miners fall so do we unfortunately. However some people still see us as an explorer so when they fall so do we. Because we are listed in the UK , when the FTSE falls so do we and because we are about to be cross listed when the asx falls so do we. As we are on the AIM market , when that falls so do we.

Icecool - you keep stating that wood has nearly 2 years to October 26 for debt refinancing - that is wrong on 2 points-

1 it is only 20 months away

2 Refinancing deals are normally agreed a year or so in advance of the deadline so as to avoid qualifying the on going concern compromise in the accounts and to ensure orderly negotiations.

Imv it is the biggest risk just now.

Meanwhile I think we will trade around 40p until there is some news , hopefully , that another party is considering bidding.

Clearly that sum would tide the compamny over until 2026 and is really significant to the level of any cash offer - anyone got any more information?

Interesting report on the BBC criticising the witholding of important information about the Southport murders. What is not mentioned was who it was who asked for the information to be with held. What is also cleverly worded is the 'no evidence of a terrorist motive' , ignoring of course the Alquaeda manual and the fact that the attackers search history has not yet been obtained from microsoft because the UK have'nt said 'terrorist' - how convenient.
