Toffers, yes I was in the same position with flybe and the shorters made a killing when the rival bidders joined forces and reduced the offer price by 90% - how convenient for all parties and what did they know? The only comfort I have is that the new flybe went bust and one major shareholder of the owning ,consortium stobart air [ now renamed esken] is also about to go bust.
Ref mms, they have to earn a living and they do so by selling shares when RNS statements are released and buying back later as they work the price down, ready for the next news release and their pay day. Simple - they feed off us as generally we comply with that pattern. They are now accumulating in readiness for next rns. Their only real risk is that it is disastrous but I doubt that is likely here - we shall see.
I noticed that the company now holds around one third of the shares intreasury. With the buy back just announced the potential for the sp to fall must be limited and I am thinking that another 5 years like the last one will see the sp up significantly on the basis of the smaller and smaller number of shares in issue - even if growth stalled!
Will rise today as the RNS is saying ' don't forget we have lots of great contracts so buy our shares'.
Working in the portland stone, laying pipes etc will be prohibitively expensive - h2 storage at that location will be far less attractive than almost anywhere else, apart from horse hill lol.
I found out that I had a few of these in an isa , having previously thought I had sold out last year, and on the basis of the press reports have just added another £2k in hope of recovering some of my previous losses. Burnt fingers crossed.
Eviking, could'nt agree more and it has been going on for some time. About 40 years ago I remember [but I did'nt believe him] an older guy telling me that the yanks had purposefully destroyed our jet fighter programme and that our industries were falling one by one; Planes, motorcycles and then cars . How right he was and how sad the process has continued through to the retail sector!
Supercharger - no jobs at stake therefore no votes at stake therefore zero government interest imv.
Jonny, nvidia could heavily influence the nasdaq but will have litlle to zero effect on the wider market imv. Nike and addidas always affect us. One thing I heard today was nike is worth $50bn ie ten times our valuation - there must be some USA suitors eyeing us up at the current depressed share price imv and maybe that is why we are getting a slight up tick - just a thought.
Spread too wide atm for me.
I think the market has overreacted and this is worth a punt at these prices - just thinking about it myself. Esken were a large part of the consortium that screwed me and other Flybe shareholders over so buying shares here is particularly difficult for me.
2 RNS statements of institutional investment but nil effect on sp??
Fforest, I think that the initial rsie is largely retail invstors and more serious money will be deployed once the participants have had a chance to speak with their friends ti find out what is really going to happen - we can only guess.
