Nettles , imv excess government spending on infrastructure, like hs2, welfare , debt interest and pay is driving inflation and all that cash needs to be 'sucked out of the economy ' and into the banks through higher savings or into the treasury through higher taxes if they want to hit 2%. The fundamental problem with the english [ of which I am one] is that they expect a luxurious lifestyle but don't expect to work for it - hence theft from stores. We are in a gradual decline as a nation and imv that process started around year 1900 and we have been living off the past ever since. Frankly other parts of the world are out competing us in most spheres - not a great outcome when to support your gdp you have to import workers to bolster our work shy.
