I have read Barnets posts over the last couple of years on several shares and believe he is both knowledgeable and credible- I just hope his pessimism here is misplaced!

USA is only part of the jd business so reaction seems a bit ott. Lets hope footlocker's results are great.

5% fall in last few minutes- anyone know why?

For the sake of balance, the shorts did well here [at our expense} following flotation because the company was over valued and our leader profited from that over valuation. Who enabled him to profit , well it was that institution he now attacks the city. He should be grateful to them [ and by extension ourselves again] for that and let the results do the talking imv.

Institutional buying by 2 funds bodes well for the sp today and beyond.

Cantbelieve cantbelieve or anyone for that matter would go all in on one share.

Jam, I think the government are following the lead from the USA, who declared about 18 months ago that they would return to real interest rates , and therefore the era of cheap money was over. We have a year of falling house prices ahead imv.

One upside for housebuilders is the price of development land which could and should fall in price allowing profitability to be maintained even in a falling house price market. In the medium term all builders are agood bet imv.

Footlocker results out this week and we always move in tandem so my guess is the market is expecting good results from them,either that or people are buying trainers instead of houses atm!

Swingman, for balance i would say the treasury has done very nicely out of the house builders, apart from the business taxes they have lumbered them with the cladding cost debacle - caused by failed government regulation.

Mick, imv net assets are often stacked with values related to brands and other items that are not necessarily marketable so I would not bet the farm on those figures . I do think the move to take this private underpins both its viability and selfish intentions of those involved. Good luck to you all.

I have ben interested in this company for some time and currently have no position. Looking at the terms of the loan facility it seems to me that the company was doomed from the moment the loan was ntered into with the extorionate interest rates. The only positive is that its survival as a private company might secure some jobs, otherwise this whole episode seems very shady to me.

Update much as I expected - we have another year of falling house prices ahead unfortunately.

CityT booked the bag in hold , add in extras for seats, food vouchers insurance etc and price almost treble the headline figure. I have consoled myself with the fact that most people will be doing the same providing bumper profits for hard up investors! I shall be writing a review after that Nutmeg will not want to post, whatever happens!

Halfway through booking a flight I noticed that the baggage charge was £111 per person - so I stopped booking. However BA want £45 and their flights are over £100 more so back to EZJ , when I am feeling less disappointed. Does anyone go on holiday with just hand baggage ffs?

Are we being affected by the adverse press story on a protein supplement?

Well, hats off to nutmeg he /she has been correct to predict a falling share price, albeit for different reasons. All travel stocks are down recently because the higher for longer interest rates will squeeze consumers next year , and beyond. The key issue is the returns that ezj can offer versus the 6 ish percent available for no risk and at some point ezj becomes compelling - are we there yet? as my daughter used to say.

Nutmeg, are you in tenerife now? The reason i ask is there are fires there.
