I am not sure the US have ANY coherent foreign policy. And Europe has none or at best very little influnce.
As the majors exit the North Sea the likes of PMO, Chryasor, Apache, Ithaca energy, Perenco etc etc become very important for the UK in jobs and oil /gas supply

Toothless but surley the meeting this week will have some affect? On PoO.
Saudi Arabia have proved to not have as much control as they did before the rise of shale (or the + part of OPEC i.e. Russia) but what they do still has significant affect on markets. I do not think that can, from their recent (2013) and more recent attempt, be denied.
If reading what is written about Saudi's economic need to have PoO at and above $75; to support their bloated needs, military expendeture and pacification of a radical population....$65 imo is a more realistic medium term level...and that indicated to me they are burning too much money to sustain their outgoings and therefore the potential for internal problems are inevitable. Iran their sworn enemies are now in bed with the muslim loving chinese and being very economicaly lean and would love them to be fully destabilized.
Does the US care anymore about the old 1951 Mutual Defense Assistance Agreement now they have shale? Will Trump let the whole region go up? Iran would then be the major force in the region?
How long can House of Saud survive?
This imo is the next threat...China/Iran, Syria/Russia, Libyia/ Turkey....will the US walk.
There was an artical posted by a poster on RKH bb board about the USA setting up a department to fund oil and resource regions stopping the chinese investment/ influence.

Grippa, genuine question: are you saying that the 10% drop in shorting by ARCM (i.e. they had bortowed off GS) was them returning the 5+% that GS sold at there buy in profit?

Owl this is an oil stock, all oil has been in termoil since 14. Some like the swings in this company because they can trade on it, some see a LT because they survived Solan ( you know about that of course)...combine the extreme geopolitical of oil, the increase in climate awareness, the move to renewables, the continued ned for oil, the rise of the Permian and shale, the voilitility of traditional oil dependent producers...yep its a interesting place to put your money...oil still ( for now) makes the world go round ( move).
PMO is driven by debt, PoO, assets, financial MM/ shorting opertunists, men and potential failure or success. We could invest in tech companys that live on sentiment only: Tesla has a trailing-twelve-months P/E of 331.52X. Never made a profit,can you invest in them now and make a profit...if not them there is always bitcoin.
What I like about OnG is you have a chance of studying financials, world events and making your informed choice/guess accordingly.

Woodstock, i get the feeling that Trump and his administration are going for herd immunity, and as fits their ideology economy first. Not that any administratioon could get a large % of the population to lock down as asia can ( or Europe) They probabley realise that ( or do not care ).
How the US hospitals are managing will be something to monitor I would guess.

Probabley wise SK. I remain a LTH ( relatively speaking ). Just trading small amounts. There is a long way to go and ALL hinges on PoO (obviously).
BUT i do think if/when Zama gets sold and Tolmount is operational (gas) PMO could find themselves in a safe(er) position. Would really like to see the platform in this year..but thats probably doubtfull. No idea how long it will take to get to first gas...that will be a good day.
TD must be praying for the day he can get the financial gorilla off his back and get on with normal OnG operations/problems and "hopefully" securely financed projects. Live in hope...hopefully not the Forlorn hope type of.

SK, came back in at 40 (readded previous profits). Reason I do not see Brent dropping that much more, still remains in "relative" demand.
Risk: Obviously OPEC+ agreements only last until end July.
GS have exited quite considerable: profit taking? concern of PoO? concern over RI and dilution affects on sp? Concern over Zama? Or as others said tied in with ARCM
ZAMA: TD/PMO has been very quite on this isssue as they have had to have been. Needless to say this has been the real fly in the ointment for sale of. As mexico have not completed any drilling to prove their claims will the Zama group have any recourse to defend against Mexicos claim. Maybe the 1/3 demand is the start of negotiations but it does not encourage buyers or investors. It has obviously been going on a while hence mexico putting a 120 day limit. All in the hands of the Lawyers and the fine print in the signed contract?
Positives: Heard pipeline work ongoing for Tolmount, will be good when the platform is on route to site....but it (imo) needs to be installed before sept...i.e. weather risk.
Zama once sold will bring much needed cash

What should be considered is Apaches current and future reserve/reservoir status:
Libya does not look good for them
Permian may not be working out financially
Egypt?
North Sea how much production is left in the forties, still quite a bit, although they do not own the pipeline (Ilios) but latest i can find on production levels grom the forties rield is from 2013

The Forties field was earlier envisaged to be decommissioned in 2013 but the life of the field has been extended by an additional 20 years"

So the question to ask with regards to Apache is, like all operators, they must continue to increase a portfolio that is always reducing. Rightly or wrongly how much did Shell pay for BG and for what reasons: Assets.
Total purchased Maersk Offshore solely to get hold of Culzean and is selling off the other parts.
So its not to crazy an idea if it also come with, Tolmount, Zama and SL

The bit that is interesting...if I am reading it correctley is how few actually voted i.e only 55Mil "for" Have the majority of the ii not voted???? Or am I way off? If correct what does that indicate.
Having the official count published as you say LSE would be of real use for us but possibley not Sam and Stewart.
The wording "The votes against represent around 3.25% of the TOTAL register" SO it should be considered that 55mil for was of the TOTAL register......interesting.

Well at least Sam replied ( fair play) and 14mil against and 55mil for, on Sam remaining....so does that mean only 69mil votes were cast?
