If Tlw is being shorted to the extent you are implying, where is the volume and declarations over 0.5%? The current drift is sector wide along with lack of any news surely??

Volume so small over the last 6 weeks does not support your theory. There is no demand for Tullow and as such is just drifting with the market.

Yes that and 6 months into 2022 no tangible news other than after tax loss of 81mln. Rahul has under-promised and under-delivered to date. Plenty of potential deals now need to be executed over the following 6 months.

Half year results are in September - this will be a Trading Statement/Operational Update so it won't be going into that level of detail. Hope you're right but I think a little over optimistic .

Look at the volume over the last three months in the context of 1.6bln shares - there is no sell off and equally no demand. the reason??- coz there has been no news and the SP is drifting with the market. Where's the evidence of major shareholders selling???

The only things the market sees is and 81mln after tax loss and "Hedging @ 75%". There are significant catalysts ahead if they materialize that are not on the markets radar and that are not being promoted by Tlw. The key is the oil price - nobody is predicting a crash in the OP anytime soon due to supply constraints. We will see....

Whatever we might think of the deal (for/against), there's a lot riding on it for Rahul. If it doesn't go through, his credibility takes a big hit. He comes across as a cautious type and I think this is already a done deal. I also think it is part of a bigger plan. I guess we'll find out soon enough though.

I'd lean towards Deeko's point of view. I wouldn't be crying into me weetabix if the deal didn't go through. Cne management didn't expect and now don't know what to do with their windfall cash other than give it back to shareholders. The 36,500 boed probably won't produce more than $350mln - $450mln revenue never mind profit and at fixed price is essentially 100% hedged.

Some CNE shareholders are suggesting a cash buyer will come in - interesting when the only decent asset they have is cash! The current deal on the table may well be worth a lot more to CNE shareholders if any one of the Tlw SP catalysts we all know about happens before the vote.

The merger is irrelevant if there is a signed agreement in place in Kenya - they would be obliged to disclose. You are also forgetting the Kenyan Government and their elections in August. I doubt Kenyatta would be happy for this to be delayed until Q4

Will be interesting to see the trades reported after the bell for both Tlw and CNE. Up 5% and 7% respectively on relatively low volume.
