I think the good thing about this board is whilst most support ACA and many have done very well here, we also still have our own views which we are entitled to. New boarders come and go but four or five of us are regulars. I do not see a problem with buyers but if they feel they will suddenly turn short and expect everyone to follow they will be mistaken. We are obviously all educated and conduct our own research which is good. Keep all the positive updates coming I say and happy new year to one and all.

2019 -I don't look at this as the UK in isolation. Big fund managers have avoided putting the majority of their money into the Uk as they went for growth in developing Countries fo the past 20 years. However the UK Market has some World Wide shares at a very cheap price and they know it, I agree with Mark Palmer. I do hold Uk banks but can see risks however they are so cheap I also see American banks coming in to snap one or two up.
Cheap oils -never, The Saudis need this to be $80 a Barrel and the days of filling up my Fizzy for 50p are long gone. I see people realising soon also it costs more Co Gas to build and charge a electric car than to buy and keep an old Bentley to be honest. Interesting times ahead especially if Bosch bring out their hydrogen fuel cell we won't need the Chinese looking for water on the moon!! ha, ha.l

History tells us after big sudden falls the market recovers and sets new highs. Not prolonged falls. My Japanese friends who earn absolutely no interest at all would rather put it in precious metals or wait for the the conclusion of the Brexit issue - before steaming back in. The yanks feel the same. Interest rates still relatively low on what I am used to, but multiples much higher today on mortgages then when I bought my first house. Beware the House builders look for growth is my current philosophy and buy on the dips. Also never invest money you are not prepared to lose.

Gold agreed stay here, but also watch copper if China deal done. I am not sure of KAZ but have a feeling HOC also mines copper as well as Gold.
From my post yesterday PMO up 6%, Tullow, up 5%, Cairn up 4%, still all look cheap to me. Also Stobart up 4.5% (for warehousing) Capita up 3.5%, Agk also very cheap.

Gold keeps rising and is supporting Acacia until the deal is announced, and the oil producers look very cheap before the OPEC cuts kick in. More expected too as OPEC are embarrassed. PMO, Tullow, Cairn all look cheap to me. Also Stobar (for warehousing) t & ,Capita for new govt contracts too. House builders will lose if rates go up to support £ and lots of Banking and Insurance jobs could go too. I am very cautious for the next couple of months. Talk of trade talks back on in January between the Chinese and the Yanks will help commodities if it felt trade is picking up.

Looks like Mr T is not sending a Christmas card to Mr Powell this year although he might give him an early retirement at Christmas. Fed/ White House deny this speculation and so that's all sorted then.

I see it like this we move into FTSE 250 next week, and then take in some extra support from Fund Managers to help underpin our share price -hopefully still to get us over £2 to £2.10 my first target. Then for Acacia to surprise us all with something totally unexpected "good news for a change" and this shocks the market and we have lift off. Well that's what my stars and secret santa told me anyway. Hopefully the probs will get sorted to get any staff in custody released if they are innocent who are probably just being held as pawns, so they too can share an Emu or whatever they fancy in Tanzania. If they do talk Turkey I now reckon in the new year. .

Aggreko are down but just won the Japanese Olympic contract so future earnings will increase later.

Stobart also looks cheap.

I suppose we can all see that when the price falls the shorters buy back their shares and so they are running at a loss. The falls are giving them the only opportunity to save some grace.

I am keeping all of my four allocations as it is not long to go before we feel in anticipation that we will receive the approach from the newly formed ABX/RRS combine who both have indicated they want my shares!! Shame if the shorters lose out before getting completely out now.

I wonder if the loan buy back took place today or Friday, but I suppose if the shares were bought back would that reduce the shares held by BR? The amounts are very similar 0.09 and .10 respectively? Maybe an experienced shorters can tell us? Over to you Stock and Here's hopin?

BB your were right mate - Shorters took advantage and are clearly working with BR? MW have reduced to now being just 0.59% and have reduced by another 0.10% - its a shame here's hope in that anybody sold. RNS and the short tracker signal the change.

BB- Acacia confirmed and had a release late Friday that they were NOT themselves being investigated.

However they themselves did consult with th SFO for the activities which have been going on in Tanzania and it was them themselves that contacted the Police. Hence my reference to them maybe having an Insurance claim to recover any loss. see statement from Morning Star -
"Acacia, which is majority-owned by mining giant Barrick Gold Corp, said it was the one who contacted the Serious Fraud Office about allegations of corrupt activities in Tanzania, which are the subject of proceedings in the country".
