Bob I worked at Lloyd's and was asked to help solve and help sort all of the world's largest losses. I worked for one of Warren Buffet's Companies doing what Mr Trump would call "a great job" but when I needed the Management support In London when having a life saving operation (following a mistake by a Doctor during a routine operation and after I was recovering at home they made me redundant. I found they offered me no charity and so I have to laugh when I hear how charitable Mr Buffet and his Company is because I did not see it myself. I lost my Income, Health Insurance, everything really when I needed it most. For me I feel in Business there is no charity. However one thing I did that none of the others (to my recollection did) was not take the advice of St.James place, and I invested my own pension out of the UK, mostly in the far east, Singapore, Japan, China, and the USA .My pension was calculated for 99% in USD and I found in my early 50'S I had enough to live on comfortably when Sterling fell (post Brexit vote) and I took my chance to retire. I now find using the same technical aspects of my brain I used in the City to make more money for myself than my London salary and so I have to laugh at those who made my life uncomfortable who are struggling up to London on crowded trains to London everyday, their loss not mine. Life sometimes has a way of balancing the books! I can now care and look after my loved ones from home! I also help local charities that I know are genuine local good causes.
