Goldman are suggesting on Bloomberg the Gold price march after the sell off has only just started.
They may be right as I have not seen the so called stimuli approved in the Senate yet , but I do know the Chinese ETF's are back in business again and they are the biggest buyers of our Gold at the moment. There must be a Gold shortage the way the trades are going and the prices are rising. Looks like there is hope for us yet.

China coming back post virus and conds favour precious metals all shares and commodities are Cyclical as we know. Fingers crossed for a continued rise back up to where we should be in this very fortunate market for safe havens and for future industrials when they kick off.

Cowichan - I think Barrick will be more difficult for us to shake off but the best defence is our price. We need to keep pushing it up and at the moment we do not have to do anything as Gold is at all time highs and moving up even more. and so we are selling our shares without any push needed.

The Gold mining consolidation continues. We need to move up a lot more yet. I can see this coming soon. Gold moving up again today however we a second wind. NYSE betting the Stimuli will struggle to get through Congress. Gold spot now USD1614 plus, and Comex moving up again at USD1654 plus.

Long hair, cheap fuel and high inflation eventually equals high Gold.
If one sells on the way up - how can you make real money? If one sells at a 10% loss but not on a rise why not make a few quid?

That was when Pelosi and Trump were friends. I do not see anything yet to be honest, but all it does is make cheap money and then inflation and then the biggest hedge is Gold ETF's and the biggest purchasers of which are the Chinese who are back buying. I would not count on any one political situation at the moment. history tells us that Gold and Silver are the safe havens and that the trains never run!! About time, market is now waking up to our little Gold precious metals which lets face it holds more value than any other currency at the moment.
I think the Pelosi and Trump spat where they cannot agree on stimulus is help us here too as well. Amazing how Politics always helps the value of Gold as well as central banks.

Who needs all the politics. Pelosi and Trump should be working together.
I see Comex futures rising further and spot USD60 oz o go.

I see as I did early this morning futures up over USD60oz and therefore at the moment the market projects further rises in the spot, Hope this helps. I feel we are only at the start of a long term rally.

Carveg, I retired early as I do not need to work. I have earned more from retirement than I have ever done working for others.

You are entitled to your own opinion. The small Gold miners went bust because they had no Gold. If they have Gold the big boys are interested, particularly at the moment. I would look into what happened to Randgold and Acacia to name just two Footse Smaller Comps.
I am here for the longer term. By the way Bloomberg have just announced the NY premium Gold market finds a shortage of Gold to buy as prices hit all time highs. Good luck with your own views.

Hi C-veg, Can I allow you to see another way of looking at it. If they is less food in a pond, a Pike will take a small fish rather than a bigger one. I see even the smaller miners with higher prices becoming more attractive. i.e. Even Fres, Centamin I do not rate Hoc as small as privately owned, but for the others they could be snapped up by the likes of Barrick. Mark Bristow is no fool. If he can get what he needs from a smaller miner -he will be tempted believe me with all the consolidation in the Gold /Silver mining industry we can have some fun.

T - No problem I am in for the longer term, just different philosophies that's all. I actually look more at the banks and the building firms as my shorts. i..e If they rise today, likely to go down tomorrow. I do not see that with the precious metals as with all the stimulus we see big buys in Bonds and ETF's and that means demand for GOLD/SILVER where production is reduced and we have shortages for future deliveries to shoot up prices even more. I cannot see for instance my Barrick shares going down in fact I see them just starting to take off. For me the share is listed in CAD and worth a lot more even than a FTSE listed company, but this as well as the other FTSE miners is a second best place to be.

All on the FTSE apart from ABX, additional income what with GBP falls as all as USD is our earnings currency. I am in ABX on the Canadian stock exchange only because they bought out Acacia Mining and got us on the cheap. However they will take off this afternoon I would imagine and I hold a lot there for the additional USD income.
You could go back in Metro when inflation hits in a year but you will want to stay in precious metals until then as you will get further rises off inflation as it is seen as the best inflation hedge too. Good luck. Everything else a pure gamble. IMHO.

My index shows Gold up USD1665 5.87% for the day, Silver also up now USD13.82 up 4.22% for the day.
Live Gold,in GBP is now up over 34.% for the Year -unbelievable. When the NYSE opens if you sell you will have more than one fund manager waiting for your shares. IMHO.

Hi T -i'm in for the longer term as see Inflation with all the govt. stimulus later and we will get a second wind in my opinion. Short term their will be a precious metals shortage -longer term inflation. No other place to be in my opinion than this market.
TBH- I can't sell anyway - as I have already met my yearly capital gains allowance.

All coming back fast as you will have seen. I am in Cey, Fres, Hoc, and my biggest holding is Barrick. I see that literally taking off this afternoon as USD1662 Comex futures will provide.
