Another 8.3. Genuine question5 Mar 2025 14:02
Looks like Barc are long/short, favouring long. Also looks like they're buing and selling actively. If you look at the SP, it's clearly moving by 2-3p (5-7.5% around 40p), although the trades aren't getting that much profit, it does give an idea of the size of the available profit. I'd imagine that they're doing this to make money. But, if you look at the bb and examine your own feelings as the SP rises and falls by 5-7.5% on sensible volume, it's clear for me (and many others) that the SP movements are affecting us. My guess is that it's triggering PI's to transact (e.g. LW? I think this morning). I haven't transacted today (I added yesterday and that was probably related to similar movements; i.e. getting over excited about Barcl or someone else fleecing us).
So my question, is this trading activity by the pro's designed to exploit the excitement and fear of us as PI's? Is it just 'part of the process' that helps pro's position correctly and pushes PI's out of positions for the reasons they don't even understand?
I'd love to get a feel for this, so if anyone has a view or better still knows how this works, I'd be very interested to hear.
