But it's also likely to be trivial? I'm thinking hundreds of thousands for loss of value in shares bearing in mind the could 'turn the company around' instead of accepting an offer. I bet they'd not think twice about shareholders in any scenario. Are we talking small compensation or much larger sums due to termination of contracts etc?

It's the kind of detail that you'd imagine being significant to the leading individuals (often narcissists, did I really say that). Having no direct experience I was just 'searching' for direct experiences. Probably a trivial thing in the hundreds of thousands to resolve, but I can't help thinking Sidara will have to get the personalities on board with sweeteners. They take it in bonuses when the mess up and the SP falls, they take it in extra-ordinary salaries which our silly systems support, I can only imagine that they'll be looking to take some more before they leave. In my view they have to leave regardless of whether the bid is successful.

Would Board compensation be part of the ongoing negotiations? I assume that they have a ball park price and as previously touched on with SWKM the negotiations have moved to other areas? Some of the board have shares at 150 or higher I believe. Obviously anyone with higher entries would prefer to come out with as low a loss as possible. Could that be part of the the negotiation to get management on board with a recommended offer? That may seem like a naive question, in this kind of boardroom scenario, I'm naive.

CS did you clarify whether it was 300 thousand shares or 300k GBP, you brought it up so I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for clarification?

I think we're crossed lines here evan, I was thinking specifically about SWKM's example on accounting. For that I'd imagined that there should be an answer. For the price on an offer, I accept without hesitation that there are a range of possibilities. I have my own figure and am working around that. It's unimportant. I think we could hear something next week.

This sort of thing interests me SWKM as in my view when it comes right down to it, there should be a single answer, there should be a correct answer. Is the confusion (if that's the right word) around that, that results in different answers, related to legal principles that can be interpreted in different ways? Goodness knows it's clear that an guilty person can be found innocent with good council and an innocent person can hang against good conncil.

Broom, look back at SWKM posts. I agree, it's like playing a game of cards, with a lot at stake and what looks like a good hand. Look back at SWKM recent posts, I'd imagine discussions have moved from price to compensation. If you want the board to support an offer, they'll presumably need to be compensated for the losses they're sat on. Long term PI's will get no compensation, just a SP jump if a deal is proposed. For PI's that have joined with a view to a fast buck, our compensation for taking a riks will profit from a deal with a higher share price. I personally think an offer will be proposed. If it's rejected, there's a good chance of the company turning the corner if it can find additional finance. That might represent opportunity cost. Time on the links if you like.

I'm glad you did (so far!), but there's no point moaning, we have to work with and around what the market is. I don't see any conspiracy and believe me I was sweating it when the CFO news came out of hours.

Nick, I try to have a grasp of the fundamentals, but work large based on TA/Charts and specific levels. I trade this periodically, but have been out and waiting for this level. We didn't touch 120 yet and I think that's still possible (it could go lower, but I see 120 as likely to attract more buyers). But there was some buying on Friday and I added quite a lot (compared to my original entry). It's not that liquid a share so the spread is often not easy, but it's been around 1.5p recently which makes it accessible, just increses the costs/risks.

Let's keep our fingers crossed that we get a rise from here. I'm optimistic.

There have been one or two comments suggesting that the losses were taken by PI's/small fry whatever and the II's are smelling of roses. That's very clearly not the case. The SP fell dramatically, all holders witnessed capital erosion, some II's must have been selling (just look at the volume of trades over the fall), if II's still hold the bulk of the shares as SWKM's data suggests, it means that II's sold a lot to II's. A classic reaction of PI's in instances of this kind is to sell and walk away. So if that happend a lot here (my guess is that it did) then it's possible PI % holdings dropped (I don't know). Others recognise a potential opportunity to make money from what may or may not turn out to be an oversold situation, have been buying, but those buying could be buying fewer shares than PI's sold. That would also lead to lower PI holdings overall. But, we all make our own decisions and making daft comments suggesting it's nothing to do with ourselves is just hiding your heads in the sand. I guess, the insiders at WG (employees I mean) are the ones who've likely made fewest active decisions and therefore been hit disproportionately hard and taken by surprise here.

Can you not see the utterly ridiculousness (is that a word?) of your post Mickey? You had the chance to buy shares at 21-22p just like anyone else. You either did it, or didn't do it and that was down to your decision making. If you think that was cheap then the massive fall in the SP favoured you.

You guys really should use a bit more introspection and stop moaning.

Interesting SWKM, but also worth stating we are mostly/all PI's here. Most of us are holding, some large amounts, which means that Instituions hold less than 100% without doubt. Previous figures (less detailed and probably out of date) suggested 95-96.5% in institutional hands.

I have a lot of HBR shares and like you think the price is crazy. Could still be blind-sided by something, but it seems like a reasonable risk reward to me. Great divi, but if it rises significantly I'd probably drop a lot of what I have. If you look historically at this and other O&G shares, no matter what they do, they can't seem to get their market caps above a certain level.

Sorry, head's spinning I see you did write 4 days ago, so that's not what's causing the SP movements.

Shewillkillme, so what kind of thing might happen? Is it possible that a rough price is in the air and negotiations are largely around other issues related to the deal? Or will the indicative price only come right at the conclusion?

Has that just been released Onedb? Something has been causing the SP to jump about a bit. It's been pretty stable for a while then dropped below 223 and is not at 228. Bodes well for next week.

FWIW the market is clearly not taking this X post seriously.
