I was considering the same, but have not done anything yet. It's never stupid to bank money. No-one can take it back once you've banked it. I had 480 or higher as a target. As I've said I expect to see 460. But I also think it's possible we'll see 527 or higher. Question is, which comes first. I don't know. I think we're undervalued, news from the sector is starting come in again and it's largely positive. POO is falling back (and likely to fall further). The daily chart is starting to look positive, weekly is moving the right direction. It's hard to see an obvious reason for a sustained fall at the moment. If it drops back I can buy back what I sold. For what it's worth I like your decision to drop some and think that there is a reasonable chance of a pull back. I get what you're saying, but for the moment the rewards of what I'm doing are good. EZJ would have to go to zero to wipe out my recent profits and I suspect I'd be out long before that happened. I guess I do have a portfolio, but it's not in the sense of having long term holdings for growth or dividends. It's just the positions that I waited a long time to enter at what I thought might be a good price (buy low) that currently remain open, waiting for certain things to happen so that I close them (sell high), bank the profit and look for the next opportunity. Guessing at the future will always have an element of gambling to it, but I don't see myself as 'a gambler' per se. For the moment (the best part of the last 10-15 years), everything is going to plan. Good days and bad days, but at the end of each year I'm up.

No NeverSell, I can't add to Stevo's thoughts. That's not really what I work on. But I find Stevo's thoughts very much worth thinking about. They seem balanced and based on a sensible knowledge base to me. Much on BB's is based more on what investors/traders 'want' to happen, rather than what is most likely to happen. I find Stevo's views refreshing and useful. What you posted seems to be a part of what Stevo tried to share, but I don't have it to hand.

Can I say, once again that you're wrong and that you have a blind spot here. You're missing what is actually happening. You're projecting your research forward as if it were fact. And although it's based on sound principle and factual information, it doesn't mean that you are guaranteed a happy finish here. The UK markets are subdued, you can argue it's to do with 'poor sentiment', the lack of incentive to buy into 'O&G' etc, or you can look at the regulation put into place in the UK after the 2008 banking/RE crisis that prevent financial institutions and pensions buying stocks. Once that changes (which apparently it might under labour) the SP of Enq might rise. Have a look at the Share buyback RNS's every morning. It's 6 pages around about (20 per page). The SP's are not rising. There are lots of reasons for share buybacks. Some are nefarious (allowing insiders to get out at a better price; buy them back to give them to insiders), the best of them which might be true here is that the company is undervalued and buying back the shares with a view to higher future valuation will drive the SP up. Even better if they're bought back an cancelled. But it isn't, the SP is dropping despite POO rising or at least remaining stable at a good price. Despite me agree with your analysis, I'm still saying you're wrong as the SP is falling. I'll be looking to add more at or below 12.25. Best to buy low and sell high.

Sekforde, we've been here before. I don't disagree about the way you value Enq. You disagree with me about the SP. You're doing exactly what I said in my previous post, you're doing the research, coming up with lots of answers and not making any money. The reason is that you're missing a piece of the puzzle, maybe more than one piece. I'm assuming, that like me, you are here to make money. This, is the only one I'm not making money on. I still agree with you, that the company is undervalued, but I need to work around what's actually happening and turn that to my advantage. You're missing that bit.

Also Aim, I'm not making assumptions. I'm rather ignoring the assumptions of the bulk of this board. I'm looking at what appears to be more or less likely. I know I could be wrong of course. The issue here is human nature. Investors spend an awful lot of time researching and learn an awful lot and believe that they know so much that their investment will give them a profit. I understand research having done a great deal in my professional life. The thing that gave me an edge over my competitors was the understanding that, no matter how much I learned, there was a lot more that I did not understand. That's himility. When you're faced with the markets, you better better behave in a humble fashion or you'll get slaughtered. I'm a pit, not a hog. On these boards occasionally (Stevo is an example) posters throw pearls and since I'm a pig, then those pearls are pearls before swine. But, I take them in, do my best to understand them and make them part of my thinking.

What I would say is that I'm not stupid. No-one, whether using fundamental, technical or other analyses or a combination, can see into the future. News trumps everything (at least in the short term). But there are ways of understanding what is more or less likely. At the moment, in my view it is quite (very) likely that the SP on ENQ will drop to 12.25 or below.

The news channels are not benign, the news has not improved with the election of Labour and my guess is that the media machine will grind the NS oilers for a while yet.

The 294/295 was almost on a rising tl support collingham. For the moment it found buyers. If that support line were to fail then 290 or lower would appear highly likely.

It's right for me and what I'm doing at the moment. 150 was too high. But I'll buy back under the right conditions. No-one can see into the future however you work things out, but I believe that EZJ is undervalued and that the SP will rise from here. Might have some ups and downs on the way though. Could even see 423 or lower, although I struggle a bit to see rational reason it might drop to those kind of levels. But a wider market sell of could bring EZJ off with the rest, so best to have cash at hand to average down.

I could easily be wrong, it's just my view of what is more or less likely. For the moment I hold a large position in shares. I dropped 30% because I had too many and because I thought there is a good chance of a pull back. I'd buy back if we pulled back enough for me to reduce my average entry. 458 would certainly do that. Otherwise I'd have to be confident that we'd get a few pence rise in the near future to take a profit and reduce to my core holding which is currently 100,000 shares.

12.26 or lower is looking increasingly likely. I stated this a long time ago, but can't be bothered to look up the post. I hold that view.
