Hmmm, so they bump the $600M price tag down to $500M...... Then stick half of that discount back on to what they will pay if "targets" are hit. Can't but help feeling underwhelmed by the (re)negotiations. Don't tell me all the champion hagglers have been snapped up by the UK government to do Brexit? Normally I'd be enthused by a discounted rights issue, this one however.....?

Works will have been priced in US$ so it will not be any cheaper. The chaos will make doing business more awkward with credit / payments not available on "28 days". Any local workers, will be grateful they even have a job, and will be getting paid in pesos. The Argentine peso has been a basket case currency to varying degrees since 2001......I happened to be there when it un-pegged from 1:1 with the US dollar and ended up at 5:1 within a matter of days. Suddenly I was five times richer - which was fine apart from the awkwardness of having to cross into Chile every few weeks to find an ATM with any bank notes in it....

Is it verging on canabalisim for me to be eating a delicious cake in Copenhagen? I'll be needing a miracle in the price of UKOG to clear the credit card bill after this weekend jaunt.

John/ Very good point about pension protection, a situation that is destined to leave more and more folks exposed. All my opening of multiple trading / ISA accounts to spread risk has now left me with a SIPP that sticks out like a sore thumb as bigger than the rest. And potentially not very well protected with current £50k investments / £85k cash protection limits. The cynic in me thought Beaufort did not unfold into a scandal cos some investors probably have Tory pals sitting in Westminster, and they had a quiet word. Whereas Farepack (? Spelling) Christmas club can go bust and shaft the poor with zilch compensation. Rant over. I'm just proving how old I am....

Beaufort and the initial approach that implied "ring fenced client assets" were obsolete words; caused me (and I wonder how many others?) to open more broker accounts. The compensation limit is, I believe £85k per instituition. The ease at which I sleep deeply at night is now mitigated by the additional user names / passwords / memorable info and PINs I have to remember. Thankfully in the meantime someone in the government must have had a quiet word to spell out the meaning of ring fenced to Beaufort's administrators.

Hey Falling K, I could help you out by setting my sell orders at 606p and 707p. My 578 limit is about to expire having watched the price bounce off 572 repeatedly a week or so ago. Those two limits should get you to circa 602 and 703 quite nicely.... But never trigger my sell. ;-)

Hmmm, you've just mentioned two of my buy in price ranges from years ago.... I'm still waiting to get back to those levels rather than admit I've lost, sell up and move on.
