Sold out yesterday, waiting for the US$ rate to make my holding worth more than the announced takeover price. Tempted to reinvest in $-based assets to try the same trick as we approach Brext / Not Brexit date on Oct 31st.

I read a Lex article about Icelandic banks and their lending habits. Barely understood a word. Twelve months later my savings were temporarily trapped in Icesave - fortunately I'd withdrawn a chunk to pay a credit card bill a couple of weeks earlier than planned. I still read Lex, and go back and re-read the articles that totally lose me as I have subsequently noticed that some stuff Lex writes about appears more widely on the first pages of business sections about 9 months later. And if things are utterly scandalous they make it to the front page of the tabloids about 6 months later.

Other than Lex I'll judge the FT writers (all bar one) on their inability to see the Brexit referendum result coming.

Oh joy, had cancelled my previous limit sell and due to foibles of ii not letting you immediately rebook if the market is closed, I hadn't set a new sell. Anyone else spot these differences between platforms? Some let you cancel limits out of hours and you immediately have all your funds / stock back in play. Others only cancel the order during market hours. Not convenient (most of the time) for those of us who work during the day and adjust buys and sells in the evenings.

Been in BTG for many aeons. Totally annoyed with it oscillating sideways for the last few years. Finally my frustration is coming to an end with a decent uplift on what I had relegated to "dog share". Do now wonder, sitting here at work, if I've been limit traded out at a ludicrously low price. Will have to logon later to see.
