I'm in the same situation with SVS and my holdings here. I had this theory that some shares where SVS were the broker are now going up as the free float is reduced.... Ironic indeed.

I'm sure the number of available shares is being restricted by the (temporary) shutdown of SVS. I am one of those holding SRES in an account I cannot trade in..... Must have some sort of impact?

There must be a fair few other AIM shares flogged to investors by SVS where the free float is temporarily reduced. I have my own list courtesy of my own SVS account being in limbo.

That was enlightenimg - until I got to the detail of how other exploration companies' share prices multiplied after their discoveries... Whereas GGP trundles along.

Silly question:- is there any kind of industry standatd correction factor applied to account for the difficulty in reaching the depth of the gold?

For example multiply your figures by:
Surface: 1.0 - dig out with a JCB, easy peasy
300m down: 0.66 - need a pretty large hole
1000m down: 0.25 - need to mine
3000m : 0.05 - can we be bothered for the size of the prize?

Just curious, just made up those figures to explain...

Not the best reading material - great book values but loss making. The unexpected exclamation mark count is also down to one. When you see a highlight of the last six months being another payment in the future then you know things are bad.....

This is one of my "trapped in SVS" holdings.....a few of which seem to have had good news flow and matching share price rises - but only after SVS were frozen. Sod's Law alive and well.

Now is that a coincidence.... The name Pelleo Capital just came up in a post on the expert web page for saving money.....related to the forum for those trapped I'm SVS.

The description of their behaviour was described as Vulture. I thought it was akin to phishing...

Had a quick read at UJO to see what their take was - over optimistic thinking there - they cannot do a quick transfer away from SVS until the administrator knows what is what.

{I'm also in PET - and only in PET via SVS - which alerted me to their issues cos PET was top of the leader board and yet my pesky broker at SVS didn't ring me last week all excited to encourage me to sell - which was fortunate as it continues to rise this week.}

Pretty sure all is well in terms of not losing out courtesy of the FSCS stepping in. Just I am trapped for the period of time it takes the administrator to work out who owns what and if there are any shortfalls.

Yes, folks, quite a predicament. At least it is just a chunk of my GGP holdings - I'll tell myself SVSs administrators are stopping me fiddle with what I shall re-name my "long term core holding". Leaving me free to trade other bits of GGP I hold elsewhere.

Lesson for you all - diversify - your holdings

Cos I have just got in from work and discovered a big chunk of my GGP holdings are now marooned in an SVS ISA.

Whaddaya reckon folks - a quiet couple of months with not much happening at GGP? .....while the administrators look through SVS's records before letting me get access again to trade at some point in about 8 weeks.

Ah, so "acting on intelligence" regarding where client money was being invested SVS was shut down. Wonder if I can claim compensation for all those dog shares I bought? Don't mind the good ones quite so much.....

IH, must dash, a cake has arrived that I must eat....

Retail investors will be fine. Holdings are in nominee accounts and FSCS compensation kicks in if there have been any shenanigans. Awkward bit is having to wait weeks / months before you can buy / sell / extract any cash on your account.

Oh the irony....
If SVS were functioning I would've been out of here at high 3s.
Since it would appear I am now stuck I'd better enjoy the ride.
Anyone know if SVS trading platforms are still up and running? I'm stuck at work so only know the phones were ringing out earlier this morning.
