Been thinking overnight......
How about a whole series of descending zig zags firming an access tunnel descending to 1000m or whatever block caving depth limits are, in the south-west beyond the dunes. Align the zig zag to run parallel with the geology - there is an interesting ridge of raised magnetic intensity running all the way back to Scallywag. Use this decline to block cave mine the HAV horseshoe, and to then work the skinny ridge all the way underground on a slowly rising incline until we break out into the fresh air of the Scallywag open pit.
Then I woke up and realised I'd not only found a heap of gold where none may exist I'd also counted numerous chickens way too early.
We have a horseshoe of mineralisation at depth, we need to be patient.....
