Massive fan of sub coal as per all my posts.
However tidal is the goal.
At the moment SAE are all Meygen, and I understand why.....however there needs to be more scope for potential projects.

I tidal barrage or tidal turbines near Usk would actually be good given the location along with the fact that when or if they could generate energy then the cash potential would be seismic.

I think that this should be an option.

I also feel that more Comms is required for investors given the very muted Comms thus far throughout the year.

What is the plan economically for Meygen what are costs for AR2000 and installation and so on.

I would welcome feedback etc and thoughts.

Also when I put IMO it is literally that and not fully factual. Contrary to what people think.

It was an actual chance to restart an actual power station using plastic waste derived pellets.

Unbelievable.

For what it is worth I really hope they pull a rabbit out of the hat somewhere else glabally and shove it right up the politicians rsses.

They really are the worst and most predictable scourge of society.

I would assume based on recent RNSs that the BESS 1 can be replicated at Usk at least 3 more times...

I hope the Welsh government repeat this.
As they say the wind and sun are unpredictable. Tides are not.

It was passed by Newport and NRW.
Then because of a moratorium in planning it was paused at a meeting in Feb 2021 when there was a single entity that appealed against USK on environmental grounds.

SAE revisited the Env permit but the new legislation added after stated that projects over certain sizes would not be accepted.

Then the red tape came out and it was handed to the national inspector or similar.

Then it started to slow down and it was evident that excuses were being made to stop it.

If it had been in the last few months that this had happened imo it would have been accepted.
All for green energy...
But to get to zero will not happen overnight and I have explained and stressed this for 2 years.

We are now back to a project that is mothballed and the plant will become an energy park.

Personally I would tuck it off and try to get Sub-coal somewhere else.

The government's really need to get a grip with reality and start bridging technologies to get to nett zero not a load of chite that has perpetual holes in it.

What specifics do you need.

Ask me and I can tell you all from memory....

The CFD is miserly given the made in Britain technology it could be.

Having been a pro for Usk it was mainly a failure on both sides.

Sae for where it was.
Welsh government for blinkers and law after sae submitted tying SAE up.

I still think it must happen somewhere for Sub-coal
Go to SAE website and this is explicit.

That is when by the way I was totally sold on Usk and Tidal as I saw link with using bridging temp technology to remove plastic to give investment for major tidal.

Gupta is an issue not a solution.
I think Usk can but the Welsh government memorandum will not be removed.
You may need to look back about Usk etc.

More importantly the UK and this is Fact.
UK DOES NOT HAVE ANYWHERE NEAR ENERGY REQUIREMENTS FOR NEXT PHASE IF ELECTRIFICATION.

This is the real issue.
No internal UK bridging process.

This is where Usk and sub coal would have come in
...
Anyway this is old news and we shall see where SAE go next.

With Usk and Tidal CFD the price estimation in 2020 was 76p so you can see the fall from grace with regards to where we could have been.

I am hoping that there is an upside and new soon regarding projects etc going forward and BESS.

However we will need momentum and good tail wind and investment or backers etc in Tidal and other areas of the SAE portfolio.

Of course they messed up and in hindsight it was a terrible mistake IMO.

There is a massive gap from ZERO impact on the environment.

It is a sad way in that in the real world we (the UK) cannot get what we want with the infrastructure we have.
Electrical requirements in the next 10 years will require 4 X current requirements.

How we get there requires bridging methods and sub coal pellets in Wales would have provided this.

Now with Liz the puppet Truss we are talking Coal, Fracking and Oil.

To be fair I want to say big thanks to this thread as it is a discussion with pros ) cons and differing views.

It IMO stimulates chat that effectively will arrive at a conclusion including some stats and not fly by night or Debbie downers.

I was a believer and and like mister tidal saw a 3 pronged approach to access liquidity via Usk.

Not all people still invested can all be bullish if they have had their fingers burnt.

I hope that and I keep repeating it...

BESS projects are in the pipeline . More liquidity.

Sub-coal is in the pipeline. More liquidity.

People that put any investment in place and the share price plummets can imo question with facts.

If you are so bullish and making a childish statement about obs ME not being able to be an investor or add to this BB then I pose you this question.
Because I know that you are evasive when it comes to facts.

What Comms have we been getting from the company that relate to the very cornerstone of your philosophy regarding the capability and robustness along with effectiveness of the turbines.

Let me jog your memory.

1 little turbine went to Japan on 24-5-21 we had Comms telling us how good the turbine was doing.

Basically selling the technology because it was the first outside the UK they had done.

Tell me what Comms via their website, Twitter or RNSs have we had about the 4 turbines that have been in the water for a while at Meygen?

Very little.

How many posts have we had on the BB about wow another ship seen at Nigg.
Hope it's for the turbines...

So what I am stating is the company is not being forthright with investors.

It is not communicating well enough.

It needs help and it must have another project or business plan to enable development of the turbine required for the next phase of Meygen.
