This is great news as we continue to develop our naval shipbuilding and maintenance business. I note the use of the term continue to develop rather than as we develop. Am i reading too much into this?

Aldebaran Ref 07.07 post purchasing one of your suppliers so that you can have continued access to them does not seem to make immediate sense to me. I wonder why they thought they would not have access to their services going forward.

Things ramping up at H&W (Methil) with the erection underway of the large 65m boom crane. I will need to get the binoculars out with phase 2 of major deliveries of steel starting to arrive via vessels for the NNG project

I think the market reaction is caused by a mixture of silly season trading and the markets perhaps expecting something else to be announced. I would not be surprised for the losses to be reversed in quick order.

BlairPeach ref 22.40 post I checked the Belfast Harbour website this morning and its arrival is now tomorrow. The only ship in SRQ is the Azura if it was going to gas up any other ship I would expect it to go to the berth nearest to it. We can therefore more or less safely say that it is the third tanker to provide supplies for the Azura.

Interesting RNS this could be a significant as a former First Sea Lord will have a number of important contacts within the MOD. Also being a NED at Carnival is likely to be helpful.

The Oil Products Tanker Whitdawn is arriving at SRQ 07.20 tomorrow. It is currently scheduled to leave 20.00 on Thursday. Information taken from the traffic expected tab on the Belfast Harbour website.

Great to welcome another new GM to the business, Toms appointment marks a major milestone as we move from our reactivation phase in to operations across all sites.

I note it says operations across all sites but we have heard nothing about Arnish. The next scheduled update is end of next month. Before then I am having a couple of days in Belfast I will post my holiday snaps when I get back.

While a technical investment the filing of the Form 8.3 by Octopus Investment was interesting in its timing. They had 10 days to file but did it on day 1. What if anything is to be read into that.

Chrisatrdg ref 17.10 post on double checking through the departures tab from the link in my 08.55 post the Ida was in Methil last week departing on 5 August. That is three cargo ships in a week. I note if memory is correct that the Ida was in for a couple of days.

The investment relates to the manufacture of the blades. As I understand it INFA is primarily looking at contracts to fabricate the jackets.

Can anyone living near Methil tell me how much industry is there in Methil as I notice that the Francisca is due into Port at Methil on August 12. The Beautrident is due in Port on the August 11. Si_Derman ref 11.03 post you have answered one of two questions and I agree with you that my reading of the two RNSs is that INFA does not currently own the Barrow site. The second question which I am not sure you addressed is Can INFA obtain the site if a plan to utilise it is developed. My view is that this depends on whether in withdrawing from the FSRU project they also said they are not interested in the site.

Having gone over my posts from yesterday if INFA did execute the SPA for Meridian Holdings there are a number of less capital intensive uses for the land than the FSRU that was originally proposed for the site. Assuming that INFA can acquire the FREEHOLD for the land the options that I can see are:

1 Lease the land to the Wind Turbine companies to use for the onshore infrastructure that is needed to support an offshore windfarm. This is the least capital intensive option as INFA would not need to actual provide the infrastructure they are only providing the land.

2 Develop and Provide harbour facilities so that the various windfarm operators can build and operate the offshore windfarms.

3 A combination of 1 and 2 this would only be feasible if the area of land in Barrow is large enough to handle the infrastructure.

Bubble2021 Ref my 14.05 post on doing further research I came across the Thu, 28th May 2020 07:00 RNS which details agreement to purchase the FSRU project for £8m. The FID was due to be taken within 30 Months of July last year so there is still about 17 months. As the FSRU is being discontinued I am not sure of the status of the SPA. It may be that if a more profitable use can be found then INFA may go ahead and purchase the asset.

Bubble2021 Ref 11.53 post having read the Tue, 9th Jul 2019 07:00 RNS it looks like the land is own by Meridian Holdings who are a Cayman Island Company. I am not sure if INFA exercised their rights under the agreement to acquire the land.

Bubble2021 ref 11.04 post INFA have officially abandoned the FSRU project in Barrow in Furness so what does your 11.04 post refer to as I am not aware of any other INFA project in that area.
