Also the Defence Equipment Plan 2021 was published yesterday so there are no obstacles that I am aware of for the delay in the publishing of the National Shipbuilding Strategy. This would include the 30 year pipeline of shipbuildng work.

With the current low share price and a lack of interest by the BoD in protecting the share price I suspect, but I am not advocating it, that HARL is susceptible to a hostile takeover. With so many investors showing losses it would not surprise me if an all share offer was made for HARL that most shareholders would go for it regardless of what the BoD says.

Overnight news out of Ukraine is good news for oil and as stocks. I am not going to make any predictions on the SP but it likely to have positive effects on SENX's revenues.

I accept that but it is over two years since the acquisition of H&W Belfast and still no sign of any large contracts. I suspect BAB and BAe may be stringing JW along n relation to sub contract work. Also the occasional complaints about having problems getting through to HARL raises questions about whether sufficient care is being taken about communications. I wonder what may have been lost through not being able to get through on the telephone or emails not being responded to.

Pokerchips ref 15.24 post With respect it is not just the lack of contract news. It is the lack of any news that means that the share price cannot ride out any macro economic crisis. With the uncertainty around Russia and Ukraine there will likely be a sustained period of volatility which would batter the share price. I do not see the BoD doing anything to address the situation unless and until it looks like it will affect the ability to gains contracts.

Looking at this page https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business/market-data it looks like the drop in the share price may not be totally company specific. The FTSE 250 is down 1.25%. The problem is the lack of sentiment which means that there is nothing to prop up the share price. We need some good news in relation to the Defence Equipment Plan. Still not sure if we are going to have a statement on the Defence Equipment Plan.

The Buoy Lighthouse vessel Pharos is due into SRQ tomorrow before shifting to the Dry Dock. I think this is the first time we have had this type of vessel in Belfast. It is currently scheduled to stay until next week Monday.

Biker888 ref 08.14 post The post you are referring to was written before I saw the second Holdings RNS showing that 8% of the shares sold by the EBRD were bought by a single person. Today's news does not change my view on SNX. I remain invested and an increase in the share price is actually to my advantage. I would note that just because somebody posts something negative does not make them a deramper. In my view someone would be a deramper if they say something negative with no factual basis. I gave a reason why the share price might go down and that reason was valid.

Biker888 ref 07.20 post while i do not regularly post on this board it does not follow that my posting a negative post means I must be a deramper. If you read the RNS carefully the sale was on Thursday last week so this is the first official confirmation of the sale we have. I would also observe that if you were to engage your brain and read my post you would see that I posted an accurate balanced summation of the likely effect of a shareholder disposing of a tenth of the shares in a company in one go.

The fact that it appears all 10% was sold at the same time may have an adverse impact on the share price unless it was SENX that bought the shares in which case the impact might go the other way. Tere will definitely be a reaction.

oldtramp ref 19.16 post as can be seen from this link https://commonsbusiness.parliament.uk/document/54269/html there is no direct questions on the Shipbuilding Strategy down on the Order Paper to be asked. However there is a written statement on the Defence Equipment Plan. I am not sure if this will be slipped out as a written statement or whether we might get an oral statement in the chamber. This will become clear tomorrow.

I note that the first anniversary of the launch of the National Shipbuilding Strategy refresh is next month. Perhaps they will mark the occasion by launching the strategy.

Just seen this report https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-60451869. In one week we have had two ferry fires. In both cases the ferries appear to be near complete write offs. I wonder how full the European shipyards are and can they handle these emergency repairs. Might we see either the Euroferry Olympia or the Felicity Ace coming in for repairs at Belfast? I would not rule it out just yet.

Speedy_Gonzalez ref 13.40 post I agree that the Felicity Ace may be a write off but when it comes to a port to take it too you need to look at both the size of the ship and there are about a dozen yards that can take that length. However you also need to take capacity into account. So it maybe that Belfast may be the nearest with capacity.

Looks like it would be a complete repair so you are looking at probably a nine figure dollar job.

drango ref 10.19 post a check on vesselfinder shows the Felicity Ace is 200m long and the SRQ at Belfast will be free by tonight so Belfast could take it. I think it would be slightly to big for Appledore. Currently Belfast Harbour website is not showing it as due in though. This can change.

LSE03 ref 08.40 post thanks for this I do not normally look at this committee. It looks like a more focussed inquiry than a similar one done by the Defence Select Committee. Might listen in if I remember.
