I am not sure what other projects could need a former minehunter but refurbishing and flipping decommissioned vessels may be a profitable sideline, the MOD does seem to have a disposal problem.

I have just come across this article from Navy Outlook https://www.navylookout.com/hms-shoreham-the-next-royal-navy-minehunter-to-decommission/. This raises the possibility that if HARL finds it has customers who are interested in refurbished mine hunters it might be able to purchase further minehunters.

Pokerchips ref 08.35 post I agree there will be a part two announcement which I expect to be about the same time as the audited results are published. Having looked at the sales sheet for the Atherstone on the link in LSE03's post I am not sure how many usable parts are left.

If I recall the last time you posted was in the run up to the last placing. Today's news is encouraging but I am not totally convinced yet that there is a strong incoming newsflow.

I wonder if the acquisition of the vessel from the MOD is a test and HARL would do similar acquisitions. This would make sense as it would allow it to showcase its shipbuilding skills and make money through the turnaround of the vessels. I am sure that the MOD has some more vessels it wants to dispose of.

Bubble2021 ref 08.14 post If you are referring to the Dry Dock contract then you are a bit behind the news. The dry dock contract went to Scotland. If you are referring to the new flagship the only news on that front that is due is who has one th design contract.

I am not sure which would have the greater impact on the share price. You have the purchase of a vessel from the MOD for repurposing and sell. That asset will probably be turned around within two years so there should be cost recovery on that. I wonder if there will be further such purchases.

Then we have the contract win from the Cory Group which is a very significant contract from a potentially useful new client. I note from it's website https://www.corygroup.co.uk/ that one of the things it does is repairing vessels on the Thames which opens up the possibility for a JV.

Finally we have a significant shareholder increasing his shareholding by 20%.

Any one of these three things could jolt the share price so I wonder what the effect of the three in combination will be.

RichardMcV ref 12.34 post I posted this last week. I am not sure why we need a committee to agree on the design. I suspect that BMT will get the design contract as they have more experience. That ;eaves the question of who will get the build contract. Logic says that as BMT are part of the Harland & Wolff consortium that HARL will get the build contract. However logic and HMG do not always go well together.

ref my 11.14 having just checked the Belfast Harbour website it is now showing as due to leave as 8pm on the 3 June. It is also the only vessel that I can see berthed in Belfast.

I have just checked three separate vessel tracking sites and the Brocklesby appears to be out of range of all of them. It was last reported yesterday morning in the Port of Belfast. This is the second military vessel to have visited the Port of Belfast recently. The HMS Richmond was in port recently. I am not convinced that they re coming in for repairs but obviously the Brocklesby has stopped transmitting its location.

Bubble2021 ref 11.41 post as it was recently at Faslane that would leave the question what kind of repairs would need it to go into Belfast. But then again its normal patrol area seems to be off the coast of Scotland so why has it been pulled off its normal patrol area. We should see soon.

On doing a google check on the Brocklesby I note that it is a Hunt-class Mine Counter-Measures Vessel. Considering one of the outstanding contracts that HARL has been chasing is the N55 this may be an interesting coincidence.

Chrisatrdg ref 09.38 post It is not showing on the Belfast Harbour website as berthing at Belfast Harbour. I note that it is a UK Flagged warship.
