Can I ask views of other people on this board on a point. Last month unaudited accounts for the year to December 2021 were produced. I believe there is a rule that is accounts are not filed within six months of the end ofa financial year then trading in the share is suspended. If that is correct must it be the audited accounts or will unaudited accounts be sufficient. If it is the former and the audited accounts are not filed tomorrow or Thursday then would trading in HARL shares be suspended.

Radders99 ref 14.28 post while a disputed tax bill may not normally caused pressure on the share price the publication of audited accounts have been delayed twice. The combination of the two may cause concern.

Chrisatrdg ref 11.53 post I note that the issues with HMRC have now caused winding up petitions at both Scottish sites. I am not sure if it is poor admin or cashflow problems or both. I wonder if we will get an RNS in the morning to clarify the position. I think pointed questions at the AGM may be warranted.

This article in the Telegraph https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2022/06/26/titanic-shipbuilder-harland-wolff-winding-row-taxman/ may also put pressure on the share price. It makes it even more important in my opinion that the audited accounts come out this week.

Chrisatrdg ref 20.07 post I think this may be a rehash by Naval News of the previous announcement from earlier this year. I could not find any recent announcement on the MoD website when I went to look for it.

I think that going into the end of the month on Thursday the share price might go up. However, if the audited results are not published by month end the share price might go down and test 12p. The only thing that might prevent this is news of a substantial contract. By substantial I mean an eight figure sum.

I see that during Scottish Questions on Wednesday one of the questions is 'What steps the Government is taking to help support Scotland’s shipbuilding sector.' HARL has two facilities in Scotland neither is geared towards shipbuilding in the main but the answer may be worth noting.

LiquidSilver ref 08.35 post we have been promised MOD contracts in the next few weeks for the best part of two years now. While there are some indications that we may be close to such a contract I am still not holding my breath on it happening.

Also I do not know the person who posted it or Whistleblowerhw. In view of this and my inability to personally verify what has been said by independent sources I am not prepared to accept these accounts. As the regular posters on this board will tell you I always prefer to seek verification and would read the source material and not rely on somebody else's opinion.

Bubble2021 ref 16.02 post what concerns me is the precedent this might be setting. There is a risk that next time HARL has a more valuable contract the unions may call another strike and in order to complete the contract on time they cave in to the union demands.

The second NS is interesting in that it implies that today's strike action had nothing to do with pay but was an attempt to force union recognition.

spudtheplumber ref 12.12 post I think t is a question of arrogance on all sides. With the Saipem 2 contract still up in the air HARL in my opinion cannot afford a long dispute. Therefore, I think today's action was a bit of muscle flexing by the unions to try and get higher wages. Also I think the firm that employs the contractors was trying something similar but they are in a weaker position as HARL might overlook them next time contractors are needed.

Thenorthend ref 11.17 post actually it does not. The media report only gives one side of the story we do not have the full story. I think what is needed is an escalation process so that issues that are or cannot be resolved can be escalated up to the holding company. I would observe that the unions might have acted illegally by walking off and exposed themselves to possible legal action.

I see we have a swift and robust response from HARL about the action today. This is the second time we have had adverse financial news from Methil. I am starting to wonder if the local management have a head in the sand attitude to problems.
