Just seen this on the UK Defence Journal twitter feed https://ukdefencejournal.org.uk/time-and-cost-of-aircraft-carrier-repair-not-yet-known/ HMS Prince of Wales is I believe currently in No1 Dock at Rosyth. This just happens to be the same drydock that would need to be used to build the FSS. This raises the question if Team UK wins the FSS contract where is it going to be built. The nearest Drydock that would be big enough is Belfast.

mcadder ref 09.12 post If I was the procurement lead at MoD I would certainly be considering it. The issue is not whether there has been any lobbying on favour of Team UK but did Team UK support or encourage the lobbying. If there was involvement by anyone in the Team UK procurement Team then that would be a clear breach of the rules and would justify disqualifying the bid. In coming to a decision on whether to disqualify the political fallout would need to be considered. Also is there any risk f a legal challenge. There is no point in disqualifying Team UK if they would be awarding it to Team Resolute in any event.

He is a former Captain in the Scots Guards an a former MSP so you would of thought he would be inclined to support a Scottish based bid. It looks like Kevan Jones MP has taken a dislike to HARL his latest question on the FSS which is due to be answered by the 15 November asks 'To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, whether his Department has provided letters of comfort to Harland and Wolff in relation to the (a) HMS Quorn conversion and (b) Fleet Solid Support Ship contract.' I am not sure what a letter of comfort is.

ForrestGump ref 10.10 post If I recall the various environmental documents correctly the pipes discharging the brine will discharge the brine further out than any of the marine life are. The question is if you believe the mitigating measures are sufficient. I am sure these points will be argued out in the forthcoming Judicial Review. I think the main issue is that the original BoD sat on their hands for about four years doing nothing. Had they progressed matter in a timely manner then IslandMagee would probably have been built by now.

JL76 ref 14.10 post Who do you think this big seller is? Having checked the list of significant shareholders there is only one shareholder that has that many shares and that is Killik. They are a broker and do not hold the shares on their own behalf so would not be divesting almost all their except on their clients instructions. Ti date their clients have seemed quite with keeping their investment in HARL
