Chrisatrdg I have just seen your 20.32 post from Saturday. I am inclined to the view that fundamentals aside there would need to have been a change in market sentiment as to how HARK is viewed. To date I believe that the market has been unsure about the company's strategy and if it could be executed. This can be seen by the reaction to even a positive RNS. JW has done rounds of the financial podcasts. The question which you posed although not in the same words is whether the share price keep on rising. I would say absent further news on some of the other contracts we will not see double digit SP increases. There will be red and blue days but in general the SP will trend upwards.

One thing we need to hear more about is the conversion of HMS Atherstone. I am going to disagree with Chitta123 on this I think it has been sold to be converted into a commercial vessel for some reason nothing is being said about its future.

I have done the same myself. If you had been on this board longer you would know people do post links without commentary so as to allow people to come to their own views.

The lack of commentary allows people to draw their own conclusions without any bias as a result of the information coming from a trusted source. The subject line normal assists in letting you know if it is something you want to read. I am not worried about a takeover because if there was a takeover approach by a UK company we might depending on who it is see a referral to the CMA. If it is an overseas company as a result of the FSS Contract with HARL being seen as a defence contractor it would be subject to a mandatory referral T-to the Secretary of State for BEIS under the National Security and Investments Act.

In my 15.40 post the last sentence should read Seeing as the ultimate owners of Navantia is the Spanish Government there is no chance of a placing in the near future and certainly not for this contract. I would also add that the refinancing from Astra shoud be in place by the end of the year.

Wolfofware ref 14.53 I have just got in as I popped out for some fresh air and have seen your post. I take it that you are aware that Navantia (UK) Limited is the Prime Contractor so would be responsible for paying the sub contractors including HARL. Seeing as the ultimate owners of Navantia there is no chance of a placing in the near future and certainly not for this contract.

Firstly, if or rather when they do you would not be able to stop it as it would be a proceeding in parliament and cannot be challenged in any court. There is a 1963 case I will not bore you with the details especially as it in fact concerned a Private Act of Parliament. Secondly, and more fundamentally the effect of preferred bidder status is to create an intention to contract there is no contract in place yet. So your statement is incorrect.

I wonder how long it will be before the Defence Select Committee opens an inquiry into the bid.

I have filtered EarlofAim so do not see his posts but is he seriously suggesting that BAe are incapable of building ships. The failure of Team UK to win the FSS Tender has nothing as far as I am aware to do with technical ability. My view is that any bid may run into competition concerns that has nothing to do with ability to build ships. The MoD may seek to block or caution against a bid but again that is likely to be on competition grounds.

Bladey ref 08.58 post It is definitely not the Astra warrants for two reasons. Firstly, they will not get the warrants until Financial close which is not due for a few weeks yet. Secondly, before they can sell them they would have to exercise the warrants which would require new shares to be issued to them. That would cause a RNS to be issued an one has not.
