djm1 ref 10.55 post If it is Parliament first it will not be Friday as Private Members Bills are debated. If it is any day other than today it will be an intra trading day announcement. With today as the House sits from 2.30 any announcement can be managed so as to be made after the market closes.

With the way the SP is racing away JW may find himself in a bind. If AIM asks for a statement on the reason for the increase in the SP and he knows something and cannot say what does he do. Going back to my factors in my post yesterday. I said one of the things that would affect the timing of an RNS is if the announcement is going to be made to the market first or Parliament first. I said that if an announcement was going to be on a Monday then it will be after close. In that case JW might be able to buy time by promising to issue an RNS tomorrow.

ForrestGump ref 10.18 post I would not tie in any announcement with the budget as this is a necessary expenditure. That said going by the factors in my post yesterday a decision this week is possible. My reasoning is that if you look at when the press speculation took off that was about ten days ago. I suspect that was tied in with when the parties were informed of the decision and the standstill period started. If that is correct then that would put us in the decision announcement period. I note that this week's investor event has been cancelled it may be that they are just busy at Belfast and there are Health and Safety with all the vessels in dock this week.

roly12 ref 16.50 post was a reason given for the cancellation? I am sure it is just coincidence that is the same date as the Autumn Budget and we should not read anything into it. With five vessels in the yard this week I suspect they will have their hands full.

Chrisatrdg ref 11.33 post a cross check with the Belfast Harbour website shows that its scheduled departure is 26 November. This is a bust week for H&W Belfast from the Belfast Harbour website I count 5 vessels going through the various berths at some stage in the week.

Chuggley ref 08.35 it looks like the first one will be bought off the shelf for quick deployment. The problem Team UK is they are already building a vessel for Ukraine, the Type 26 and the Type 32 or is it 31. The Type 26 is behind the original schedule with the first one HMS Glasgow not due to enter service until 2028. I therefore doubt they have the capacity to do this even if they wanted to. In any event they would need to do some form of competitive procurement.

As this would be market sensitive news, see the reaction to the last Defence Questions for proof of that, we might see coordinated announcements at 7am on the same day. Alternatives are an intra day RNS following an announcement in Parliament or if it is on a Monday an announcement in Parliament after market closes with a RNS on the Tuesday.

If Team Resolute wins the FSS contract it could be argued that it is technically an all British bid. This would depend on the name of the Navantia company named in the bid. If it is Navantia (UK) Limited as it incorporated two months before the tender was submitted it was an all British bid.

Of course this is a legal fiction and easily disproved by looking at the names of People with Significant Control. Navantia (UK) Limited is controlled by a Spanish Government Department. However, in one recent answer the term UK registered company was used. As Navantia (UK) Limited is a UK registered company it can be the Prime Contractor without HMG breaching any of its commitments. I strongly suspect that Navantia (UK) Limited was created for this very reason.

Also the 130 metre Oil Products tanker Ali Ka is due into SRQ tomorrow I do not have a scheduled departure date so it is not within the next seven days.
