The thing is reso, and some others, the gas is being sold to Croatia because of the extraordinary delays with the Slovenian bureaucracy. If you, and they, are really annoyed about that you, and they, are hitting the wrong target. You need to lobby the Slovenian government, or would that go against the old mentality of not going against the government from past concerns that they may get back at you? AST the easier target eh?

The point missed here is the meeting with government ministers. Why? I expect it not just to be for general enquiries on progress of the IPPC and other well permits but quite likely because of interest from parties involved with the strategic review. He will be looking for assurances on behalf of such parties so that they can invest in AST at as low a risk as possible. The bureaucratic nightmare that is the Slovenian government is something companies would not want to get involved with without substantial assurances if they were to do so.

The most significant point in the podcast was that he was just on his way to a meeting with government ministers. He needs to get the government moving now as the delays with everything are becoming ridiculous. The rest of the podcast was basically just what was in the RNS. A pity he explained why he was in Budapest as the reality was a bit prosaic in just meeting their science team. Leaving it unexplained may have set some rumours going about connections with Hungarian companies and / or government.

Should be a massive buy. Should be. Why is it not? I would blame the Slovenian government for their bureaucracy delaying a project that would strongly benefit their own country. I would also blame the slamming of AST on Twitter and other social media from the end of 2017 through to the beginning of 2018 which put off most investors from getting involved in such a toxic share.

This now needs a massive PR exercise to convince investors of the actual value of the gas this company has. Efforts so far by Colin and PR companies have been insipid with little positive effect. The result has been a positive RNS we just had having no positive effect what so ever.

An example of a one sided post. Colin has been optimistic in many of his predictions but they were honest opinions at the time. He could not have known how the Slovenian government would delay the bureaucratic process so extensively as they have done. Why would a government delay something that is so advantageous to their country? Why indeed? He could be accused of not knowing the process in Slovenia may well cause this, but would obviously expect an expeditious process when the gas is so advantageous to the country they are in charge of. Naivety maybe but lies and deceit? I think some on here should take a more objective view of things and not such a subjective view, difficult though that may be when you have a paper loss.

Any other company and the MMs would react with an instant re-rate. They are quick to take an SP down when there's bad news, just look at 88E. They can also be quick to re-rate with good news, but not with AST. Just shows the doldrums this company has got in to.

My understanding is 88E have other projects (Yukon Gold) and have data showing there is oil at Icewine, they just need the right method to get it out. They're in an oil rich area where they are likely to succeed with the right team, which they have, using the right method(s). They have a short term minor technical difficulty currently. How's that? Not out?

Always the same. The kids come out to play on the board when things go wrong. Massive joke to them. Others may call it schadenfreude. And they bring up all the bad news to increase their mirth. Others may tell them to get a life.

AST is bogged down in bureaucratic delays with a government that appears to be going for the World Cup in bureaucratic delays. Colin is as frustrated as the rest of us. No point in putting on too much pressure on the government, that won't speed things up at all. Colin just has to play the Mr. Nice Guy with them and ask: "please can you expedite this so we can get gas flowing to benefit your country?". Hopefully the Slovenian government will soon have all the t's crossed, i's dotted and, no doubt, copied in triplicate.

Agree dvh. However investors in AIM seem to be very short term minded and next year is a long way away for many of them. In the meantime the SP languishes. We need good news soon and not just next year.

That's not just on the IPPC. It's about everything around getting the wells reopened and the gas flowing. Any prospective company will need guarantees. Without that no one will get involved regardless of the proven gas reservoir and existing wells that just need reopening. The proven record of bureaucracy over the past few years has shown that this is a quagmire for any company that doesn't know their way around the bureaucratic system in the Slovenian government.

The extraordinarily pedantic way the Slovenian government follow the rules now is the reason for the poor MCap right now. Colin is just as frustrated as the rest of us and has no influence on the process. Significant investors don't want to get involved because they just see themselves getting embroiled in an ongoing situation lasting months and which may still not have a good ending. The rest of us who saw what appeared to be a good investment with a proven gas reservoir and in situ wells that just needed reopening can only now wait and hope the Slovenian government sees sense and allows this to get moving. Any prospective further JV partners coming out from the strategic review will require guarantees from the government that the wells can be reopened and the gas retrieved and sold on without impediment. And us PIs can only wait and hope the Slovenian government sees sense.

When the IPPC was removed by the Court in April 2016 the SP halved. There's your indication of what may happen when it is reinstated.

A lot of bitterness concerning Colin and Clive on here. Understandable considering the current situation with the SP. Clive is a necessary 'evil' with his City influence. Colin has been working hard to get things moving since 2016 and the INA contract when the the Court removed the IPPC. However we are not convinced he has the necessary contacts and influence within the Slovenian government to get this moving. The JV partners may well have the local contacts to do so but have clearly not been successful.

I'm not sure anyone could have done more considering the opaqueness of the Slovenian government system. We don't know and can not know. We need to trust those in charge, and that is basically Colin. Very frustrating and many investors have not got the patience or trust in Colin.

Colin has now built up the local experience whatever lack of experience he has previously. I place the blame squarely with the Slovenian government. It seems they don't want to access the gas under their soil as the bureaucratic process has now extended beyond what may be called reasonable.

We can only hope the softly softly approach works and the strategic review brings in a company with the investment to get things moving.
