Datron, please don't post useless garbage on this page. We are trying to keep it informative for investors. Your poorly written blogs scream you are short and trying to get retail to sell to pump your bags. Bluerill, I am sorry you had to deal with this moron! Your responses are clear, concise and accurate. Anyone new to this page should read what he has to say, he knows what he's talking about!
Patience is key with investing.. often holding LT is where the real money is made. People may be sick of hearing "the next 6 months are crucial" but it is the truth. In my eyes, I see BATM very much like a growth stock, with the potential of significant returns if all goes to plan.
To answer your question "I don't understand why people are excited by BATM" I think the answer is simple.... the expectation of significant profits in the future if BATM can execute as expected, thus handsomely rewarding shareholders. This is just my opinion and I may be wrong but I am happy to debate this further.
Think you are suffering from recency bias Nutmeg. As you pointed out earlier the company has had some good news and from this good news BATM will be able to increase its revenue. As we all know, fundamentals work well with equity investments and therefore if profit does increase (as the good news suggestions) so will the share price. The issue is there is no imminent increase in profit (apart from a few divisions) which is why the share price has not moved much yet.
Apologies.. I meant core divisions not non core. Adding to my initial comment, I think the next few years could transform the company into a behemoth if Moti can execute his proposed strategy. It is clear everyone is very focused on working on these key areas, evidenced by the Q&A. The healthy cash balance position will also help BATM continue to invest in R&D while others will have to borrow money at extortionate rates.
Agreed InContext, I am very happy to see BATM senior management recognise the potential they have with their non core division. Everyone knows Edgility will be the next huge win for BATM but not many know that the company also has huge potential in Cyber and Medical Diagnostics
Sounds like a very positive brokers note. I think the future guidance will be crucial and the H1 results at the end of the month will be a huge indication of how the stock will perform in the near future.
In my eyes, it is in BATM's best interest to sell off some of their non-core business divisions. This would give them fresh capital to re-invest into Edgility and also mean they have less distractions and can put all their efforts into Edge computing, as TradeWizard said. Although having a diversified set of income streams can be beneficial and is often the safest option, if a company is going to explode they need to put all their eggs in one basket. BATM have this opportunity.
Agreed TradeWizard, Edgility is definitely their greatest assets. If I was in management I would bin off the non-core divisions and put all my effort into Edgility. If they can make a success out of it it'll be 10x the revenue of the non-core businesses combined
BATM have made it clear over the last few months that they are looking to dispose some of their divisions. Interested to hear which division everyone thinks BATM will sell off?
Excited for the AGM tomorrow. Will be good to have a look over the Company's audited annual accounts for the financial year ended 31 December 2022.
InContext, this is common for many stocks. Shorters have their range bound strategies which often leads to share prices moving sideways for longer than expected. However, eventually there will come a time where the news is too positive, and even with the sell pressure from the shorters, the share price will break through the range. If this happens, prices tend to leap upwards as short sellers are squeezed and liquidated meaning they have to re-buy at a higher price to close out their position which leads to even more buyers pressure
Saw this on ADVFN as well, very positive for the stock that the seller was a forced seller, and now they that are finished we may see BATM climb into the 30s if the buyers continues to buy throughout this week. Although the buyer dealt in the OTC market yesterday, and buying from him in the spot market will see the price spiral upwards as the order books are so thin at the moment. Something to look out for!
Looks like many institutions and pi's are keen to get liquidity, given the dramatic increase in IR, institutions are looking to sell assets, especially small - mid caps. Luckily BVC is making a lot of the right noises, especially after the investor presentation. Compared to other UK mid caps, BATM looks to be performing well, some decent new business or a continued improvement in earnings from Edgily would spring BATM's share price to the next level
Positive price action over the last month, the investor presentation definitely a major contributor. Ever since then, BATM's share price has steadily been moving past the 25 mark. Seems like Moti's presentation has resulted in an increase in confidence from the market. Interested to see if the renewed optimism continues this week!
Great info Canary, will defo keep an eye on the companies on the list and see how their growth compares to BATM over the coming years
I like your thinking Mary, if they fully capitalise on the opportunity they have, especially with Edgility, then BATM will be a money making machine
Awesome summary InContext, highlighted all the key points. For anyone that missed the investor presentation I would recommend InContext's post about it. On top of all the excellent developments, I am also glad that they answered the key questions retail investors had. Instead of just answering the easy questions, they answered the important ones. I think this company has a big future ahead of it.
Been away on holiday last week and looks like I've missed a lot of positive news. Looking forward to the retail presentation in 3 minutes. Would be good to get a detailed discussion going on this forum once the presentation is complete!
Nutmeg continuing to bring nothing but waffle to the conversation. Interested to know if you are attending the Investor Presentation Nutmeg??
