Antibody testing may be a waste of time then? Companies developing antibody test may take a hammering if true.
Even more reason for NCYT's "have you got it " antigen test. It's the only effective thing we have right now....test test,test !

I think there are quite a few companies with stuff in development but I'm sticking with Novacyt.
They are the ones that are actually selling a product NOW, with proven success, worldwide approval, and more orders than they can fill. This is a worldwide pandemic and only 2 companies have WHO approval for this type of product.

The UK government was very slow to appreciate the value of extensive testing in the early days, for whatever reason(which may come out in the post crisis analysis)
At least now they seem to be realise how crucial a part it will play in getting on top of the virus and getting the country back to normal.

...And talking of testing. I watched Newsnight earlier. A lot of commentators were saying, when asked about exit strategies, that
testing is going to be needed on a massive scale before we can start to get back to normal life.

So Peston had his facts WRONG. The million test bought from China do NOT test for both Antibibody and Antigen.

Only good for testing if you had it(and they take 28 days)
AND they are still not approved for use.
Definitely need NCYT to ramp up production....

Long way to go on testing

Test, test, test. We have only scratched the surface of how much testing needs to be done compared to how much has been done to date. They haven't even got to all health staff or key workers never mind those with symptoms or the general public at large. Looks like have the best kit around. Surely the SP can only go one way. I would guess £5 within a month or so.

Quite agree we are going to be testing for months. It's the lack of testing that got us into this mess.
