Great link. A lot of short term traders who want to make a killing then move on seem to be inclined to sell at the very whiff of vaccine news , that they think will blow away overnight the need for testing.
When you are running a vaccine program in conjunction with (essential) validatory testing do you want to use the most accurate test available?
I can't really see even if/when a suitable vaccine emerges that the demand for NCYT testing won't still be there.

We we talking on here this morning about the cheap and cheerful not very accurate mass testing program to be rolled out
soon in UK.
The under valuation of NCYT at the moment I think is based on the idea that revenues will plummet after the pandemic has eased off/gone away. There will be no more need for these mass testing tests. But that is not what we do!
NCYT is getting itself nicely embedded into the infrastructure of the NHS (and others). Much more likely to sustain long term revenue way past when the other players have fizzled out. That is where the value lies and the market I think hasn't got up to speed on that....as yet!

I think they will definitely have their place e.g. people with no symptoms but who might want to get tested before spending time with relatives over Xmas.
So they will help keep the transmission rate down in non critical areas.

It appears that in some cases if a person tests negative with a lower accuracy test then they still need to checked with a more accurate test. That implies the quicker?/cheaper?/ less accurate tests main function will be to offer a more crude diagnosis but not used in clinical settings.

There is going to be room for every one in this rapidly expanding market.
NCYT Pcr test is here to stay AS WELL as the rapid Antigen tests.

I checked out my nearest private testing clinic in West London.
They offer:
1 A more expensive Pcr test (together with a fit to fly certificate.) The Pcr works by detecting viral RNA. It is is 99.9% accurate
2 A less expensive Antigen test which works by detecting viral surface proteins. It is 93.8% accurate.

Currently you need the more accurate Pcr test to be able to get the "fit to fly " certificate for most destinations.
And of course hospitals/care homes need a VERY accurate test so it's no surprise they are opting for NCYT's testing machines and Pcr test.
You wouldn't really want to admit someone into a ward/room of very vulnerable patients/people with an accuracy of 94% when you can get 99.9%

I think the death rate is dropping for a number of reasons.
1 A lot of the unfortunate people who were likely to die have very sadly died.
2 Vulnerable groups are being better protected particularly in care homes and hospitals.
3 The treatments in hospitals for the very sick has improved as doctors have increased their understanding of what helps prevent deaths.

I would say that it is more a case of them being very "clever" to spot the opportunity, AND also had the skills to take advantage of the circumstances.
First mover advantage is a powerful means to dominate a share of a market.
