I think there are alot of momentum traders out there these days.
Buy at the start of an upward trend and sell or short at the start of a downward trend.

They will target volatile stocks for maximum gain.
So it's easy to see why the like of NCYT can gain or lose 40% in a matter of days/weeks.

SP going sideways today. Is this the start of a reversal? Hope so.

Could be the new norm in testing. NOT have you got Covid or not, BUT what type of variant have you got!
Don't suppose the LFT's can do that either !

Hey Simple. MM's are there to make a market. Anyone can put in a buy order. That is not illegal.
If you or I put in a buy order wanting , say, for example, £5k at 20% below current sp, that will have virtually no effect at all. But if someone puts in a buy order of, say, £3.5 million, and it was 20% below current sp then MM's would take serious notice. They would , in my opinion try and take the price down to fill that order.
It all about making a market. Everyone wants a bargain to get in cheap, so in the absence of any news the sp may tend to drift lower.(especially in a relatively new, and volatile stock like NCYT , which don't declare a dividend)
When big news arrives(as I think it will) we see a new leg up as MM's have no choice but to put the sp up as demand surges

I wonder if NCYT is considering moving off AIM sometime around when the results are published.
We might get a fairer valuation. Is this why we have got a new CFO. Is that on his list of jobs to do?

Hey Saseefeldt, I think you can't deny that NCYT are EXPERTS at bringing diagnostics tests to market. They are usually way ahead of the field compared to other companies and produce industry leading products.

SO...I have no doubt at all that they could have developed an LFT test , that was cutting edge, as good if not better as any around, in double time, and had it on the market months ago.

They could have done that. BUT the question is . WHY did they choose not to do that.?
They have a plan to become a Midcap company. It has been carefully thought out AND it doesn't involve LFT antigen tests.

BUT... I bet they test patients with PCR.

WE don't need to monopolize the Covid testing market to remain highly profitable.

We all have different opinions but I would suggest you don't abuse other posters...It's not nice.

NCYT have a world wide reach for sales of it's PCR tests. Cutting edge testing that is in high demand.
YES the mix of PCR/LFT will change depending on circumstances that prevail. BUT there will always be demand for PCR.

NCYT are expanding rapidly. If the PCR/LFT ratio changes it doesn't really matter because the market is so huge.

ODX had a great day today. BUT do they have a world wide reach. Have they got distributors in 130 countries? When the market actually realises how much revenue/profit they will announce I suspect it will be VERY modest compared to NCYT's

Hey Oriens, NCYT is becoming embedded in the NHS. That is the kind of business we want.
NCYT has been working with DHSC for quite some time and I don't see any reason for this not to continue.

I think as we get on top of this seasons virus going into the summer, like last year, it will be the LFT tests that we will have little need for. BUT I think everyone in hospitals and care homes will be using PCR for the foreseable.

Exactly. Some investors seem to think LFT is a threat to PCR. It is a different segment of the market.
So LFT news leads to selloff in NCYT. Makes no sense. NCYT aren't going to be selling LESS tests.

It's a little bit like getting a home pregnancy test. They give an indication that you may be pregnant. THEN you go to the doctor who THEN does PROPER tests to confirm it categorically.

Hey LETDOWN, LFT is a different segment of the market to PCR. Massive potential for both.

Hey Dikki, no I haven't made any enquirys to Barclays re: certificates.
I don't actually want a certificate. Seems that Barclays are holding onto all the details.
I am hoping for a relist.

I'm with Barclays and my investment account and ISA still show my FRR holdings together with closing value, BUT says "delisted". And the ISA account additionally says these are ineligible for ISA (because they are delisted.)

One would hope they simply become live again IF (ever!!!) relisted.

Hey Roley, thanks for that. Does it mean that potentially MM's are holding back the price to allow II's to enter, as has been suggested by some. AND at some point will they then allow the sp to run free?

And it can run on a Q16/32. Handy little machines to have around those. Useful that we upped production capacity 5 fold!

Hey Deas, yes it is weird. Not sure why that is. Could be that they are still being valued at JAM tomorrow prices (because they aren't actually generating much revenue yet). That could change RAPIDLY if/when they finally do declare their best revenue forecasts...AND it turns out to be peanuts !
NCYT are much further ahead (almost a year)and are now being valued on actual revenue (minus fear of that revenue not being in perpetuity) That will change. The cream will rise to the top and those making all the money(us) will reap the rewards.
