S1963, the issue is phantom numbers on the Ask which disappear when the price gets close. They are there to discourage traders from buying because those traders will assume the price won't rise past the huge chunk of shares (because a lot would have to be bought before the price can go higher) and therefore there is no short-term profit potential and no point in buying.

It's a fake deterrent to buying.

As the saying goes, absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. You may be right that NM wants to go to production, but every man has his price, so we can't rule out a bid entirely. Just because no one has bid yet doesn't mean no one will ever bid.

PE, I have to give you 10/10 for perseverance and consistency on the de-ramping effort. I assume you are concerned we didn't pay attention the last twenty times you said the same thing :)

Yes, because 1m of 10% copper 900m down would be so much better. I mean, the grade is 20x higher! Who cares if it is tiny and expensive to reach?

According to the RNS, "The strong copper and molybdenum assay results received over the final 21 metres of the first drill hole far exceed the visual estimates made", so it sounds like they didn't realise what they had until they saw the assays.

Neither good nor bad. The company is issuing 15m new shares. As there are already 3.5 billion shares in issue, that is less than 0.5% of the total shares and will make very little difference.

Regulatory Notice. If the company knows something that could materially affect the share price, they have to release an RNS with that information.

I was doing my first research on this company today. Read about the drilling and the Anglo-American deal and then glanced at the share price, which had suddenly shot up while I was reading. Found the new RNS within a couple of minutes and immediately bought.

That is definitely my fastest ever from starting research to buying. Lets hope I wasn't hasty :)

elir71: I completely agree. I've tried to explain the geology context myself in a couple of posts. Unfortunately, we live in a time where people want instant gratification with no effort and then feel offended when the world doesn't cooperate.

LSE has a weird bug where page 1 vanishes, then re-appears after someone posts.

I believe there are probably plenty of PI selling because of one or more of the following reasons:
1) They read the gold grade in the RNS and haven't done the research to understand the geology.
2) They are upset because the stock didn't double on news that the geology looks promising
3) They are upset because the share price doesn't go up every day.
4) They see the price fall due to profit-taking and warrant selling and panic-sell

Meanwhile, those doing the research and understanding the potential (not certainty), are mopping up cheap shares for the long-term after an RNS that reduces the risk on this investment.

Do you actually have any ALBA shares MR008? All your posts are negative, yet you never mention whether you are buying or selling (or going short).

When looking at assays there are three important factors to consider.
1) The grade
2) The length of mineralization
3) The depth of the ore

For example 10m of gold at 10g/t is effectively the same as 1m at 100g/t, so you need to consider both factors.

While you might see higher grades than these holes in some other locations, the fact that it starts at the surface and goes 750m+ is amazing. Its huge and easy to mine. The All-in Sustaining Cost to mine the copper here is going to be a lot lower than for an underground mine. A lower grade near the surface is worth the same net revenue as a higher grade at depth.

Some people have the view that the MMs have no interest in moving the price up and down. As the MMs make money when someone buys or sells regardless of the current price, they therefore don't care about the price and have no reason to move it.

However, MMs do need to encourage activity or they make nothing. A share that sits at the same price for weeks on end with little activity is no use to them. Therefore, if the price does suddenly move quickly (in either direction) that encourages people to buy or sell and the MMs make money. I'm not saying they are definitely doing that, but there is no doubt that more action in a share is better for them.

Some people try to trade those movements in SP, but it is a dicey game and many traders lose money. If you have faith in the company and the management and, because of your own research, you believe the value is greater than the current market. Buy and hold until you think that is no longer true, or you have a better opportunity elsewhere.

The headline price is dipping below .40, but the VWAP is 0.437 :)

You are obviously upset about that so speak to admin - no point keep repeating on here unless your objective is to keep saying assays were too low (as a de-ramp), without reference to the geology context which is explained in the RNS.

Your point needs to standup on its own merits. If you have to rely on saying "My opinion is worth more than yours because I used to have a good job and I hold lots of shares", then you have an insecurity problem.

I've never mentioned in on these forums before, but I am director of analytics in a global company with a market cap in the tens of billions. I've spent the last two years as strategy advisor to the group CEO, including visiting our companies in different parts of the world (AUS, USA, etc.) to conduct reviews of their business and people. So I have a little knowledge of how companies run in reality.

The reason I never mention it because I either make a good argument or I don't. It doesn't matter what my job is. I'm just making a special exception on this occasion seeing as you thought it was important.
