Let's assume that AAL are interested in a takeover and the geology from the drilling indicates a very large deposit, even if we haven't hit the high grade areas yet. Even if that is true (and I hope it is), most shareholders won't bother to do the research to understand the situation, or will see something more shiny elsewhere, or may just get bored. Then they sell.
However, the people who really make money on the stock market are not those who follow the crowd, but rather those who see something that few other people see. If value was obvious to everyone, how would you ever make a profit?
Plus, at the moment the bid-ask spread is huge, so the share price will bounce up and down on minimal volume.
Finally, there is a suspicion that AAL are trying to keep the share price suppressed via Mr250k. That is unproven and would be illegal, but also very much in their interest.
