This is the key sentence for me. If the due diligence is complete, we are in the final paperwork stage and it is just a question of when, rather than if.

Perhaps you should research a share before pontificating. Its been in production since 2012.

Unless someone spends time to research the company, they won't buy the stock. With a $10m market cap, the vast majority of investors are not going to spend that time (even among that subset of investors who actually bother with any research).

Some will buy the spikes on the assumption that something good must be happening, and then run away again when the price falls.

In a way, that is good news. It means you have found a stock at a very good price before the general market has become aware of the value. Being in that situation in the short term is how you make large gains over the long term

I've got some other investments at the moment which I think will have a higher potential from this point onward (although it would have been nice to be in this stock at the start of the year) but I will keep on eye on GGP as well.

I agree that the jurisdiction and infrastructure are major factors. There wasn't a JV that fell through as the SOLG CEO continues to maintain he wants to go to production alone (which may be sales talk for 'offer more') , but I agree that a JV with BHP/NM/Chinese would improve the situation for SOLG.

Not sure I agree those factors justify the difference in market cap, but I appreciate the fact-based response.

My question is about the comparison. If you use that logic, then SOLG has 22m Gold * $1800, 90m silver * $23 and 10m tons copper * $7500, which is 116 billion dollars of proven resource, compared to 8 billion for GGP, so why does GGP have a much higher market cap?

Another example would be HZM which has $40 billion worth of nickel resource and a completed PFS, yet is only $100m market cap.

Is GGP massively overvalued or are SOLG and HZM massively undervalued?

I am not a shareholder and I'm trying to understand the excitement here, so this is a genuine question.

If you look at SOLG (as an example as I am invested there), the MRE for the 1st of 15 sites has 22m oz gold, 90m oz silver and 10m tons of copper and SOLG has 85% ownership. There are other potential tier-1s being drilled. That first site is close to PFS completion.

The market cap for SOLG is only about 60% that of GGP, so I am assuming that the MRE for 4.5m tons of gold (of which GGP own 40%) is not the reason for the 1.3b market cap. Are the prospects in other areas really that good?

For those who don't know about the TT (Tourist Trophy) races, do yourself a favour and watch some videos. It is a series of motorcycle races around a 37 mile track, with the final race being six laps. The track consists entirely of public road and goes through towns, small villages, countryside and up/down a mountain. Speeds reach 200mph, with the average speed over 130 mph. In 2019, we had 45,000 people and 12,000 bikes turn up for the two-week festival.

It is *extremely* dangerous, with 2-3 riders dying each year on average, plus serious accidents. The public is also allowed to race the track on 'Mad Sunday' and the island has no speed limit outside towns. We usually lose 2-3 visitors in accidents each year as well. The riders have to be incredibly brave or at least partially insane.

The race is part of the island's culture and goes back over a hundred years.

Sorry if I am an Isle of Man bore today. I just love the island. Its an amazing place to live :)

Every time I get a little concerned, I look at the six month chart. Looks of spikes but very obvious upward trend throughout.

Z - where do you live? I can see mountains in Cumbria on a clear day, or in Scotland and Ireland from different parts of the island.

No, Nigel Mansell no longer lives in the island. Apparently, he spent 11 years as a special constable (volunteer policeman) when he lived on the island and was still racing. Imagine being pulled over for speeding by the F1 world champion :)

@ Zoros. Residence is fine. However, you need a permit to work if you have been here less than five years. Also no benefits if you have been here less than five years.

Work permit is granted if there is no Manx (native to Isle of Man) person available and capable of doing the job. Unemployment runs between 1-2% so we have a lot of non-Manx workers. There is a variety of different industries, although banking, insurance and gaming are probably the largest. I think the largest single employer is the local brewery, which has 36 pubs on the island :)

In fact, I once checked on trip advisor and the island has 4x more places to eat per capita than New York.

Welcome Zoros. I'm also new to ARCM this week. On my limited experience, I would say friendlier so far than SOLG :)

Or move to the Isle of Man. Similar to UK except:
No capital gains tax (no need for ISAs)
No inheritance tax
Top income tax rate of 20%

As a bonus
Virtually no crime (because the police here do not mess around)
No social distancing and everything open as normal.
Great food & drink
Friendly people
100m coastline, 220 sq miles of land and only 85k people.

This is a good stock that doesn't need ramping. If you want to encourage people to invest, just starting quoting some facts about the company.

People will read different meanings into 'due diligence'. To me, that means the outline of a deal is agreed and they are going through the process of checking everything that could be an impediment. It doesn't definitely mean a deal is happening, but it strongly suggests that both parties are interested in making the deal happen. I've been involved in large mergers (multi-billion) and due diligence is late in the overall process.

I've bought into this share in the last couple of days on that basis.
