990,000 share sell just gone though

lets not get too carried away - remember last time and all those posts shared of THG employees 'smashing' targets - then when we got results they scrapped in at the bottom end of revenue, reduced ebitda down twice and profit warned on 2022

fair Hosai - on reflection, I do agree none of us know if results are leaked at all, and I do believe that surely they will be good.
esp as THG havent set the bar too high in terms of FY ebitda (same as 2021 but on a +20% business)

Hosai - did Amazon ever spend shareholder money on hotels and spas during this period?
I think its ok to have negative sentiments as this isnt a cult, as long as posters share what they would like to see ie. gettin rid of matt moulding vanity projects, and focusing on sustainable growth paid for within their earnings

I think this is a fair position in this new inflationary risk off time?

agreed no more vanity projects like these F ing stupid hotels and spas - sell them and get rid
no more expansion for expansion sake - it was laughable when they confirmed in FY they had 14m GMV capacity yet only plan to do 2.6M in 2022!!! so no more warehouses/ no expansion capex
save the cash. grow within your means, and ensure positive FCF, and pass on the inflationary pressures. FFS they are selling branded beauty - all other sellers have passed them on from the suppliers

and cut overheads - the staff costs and overall admin costs are huge! Not sure why 10k people are needed for a 2.15Bn business but head count needs to be cut

and stop giving out free shares to staff and dilluting share holders - moulding can give his shares to them if he wants to play this game

looking back at what they said in FY results, literally it couldn't be a more stupid strategy in this new reality

have to admit I agree with you - there is something not right here.
SP is at ATL so you would expect bargain junkies to be loading pre results - this is not happening as there is minimal buying volume (for weeks since circa 15 august)
you would also expect II to buy in if results were expected to be good. instead JUP and Rowe price selling, and Softbank not taking option or even re-negotiating

I am also heavily invested and I am just feed up of being let down by this company.
I cant even get information on how to register for the MY analyst call
THG have consistently let shareholders down since float, hence why SP is 50p today vs 500p+ at IPO
I genuinely would love nothing more than for this to sky rocket - but how can it when NO ONE is buying their shares

its hardly a glowing endorsement by the market either though - asos has announced a profit warning and is up
the majority of the market and retailers/ tech are green
and 60-70% of todays trades for thg are a sell

Strong sell off today - I guess maybe the results leak has hit those in the know?

there is just so so little volume for THG - almost zero buying support, and clear JUP or another are still selling (you can spot their sells as they usually do the exact same trade amount twice)

such an unloved/ hated company - even at ALT, no II or funds are willing to take a punt - hard to imagine a world where this was X15 over subscribed at IPO. Goes to show how poor governance and perceived poor leadership can damage a company

its the same as yesterday - no buyers, therefore no SP upward movement
v unlikely to be taken private as surely someone somewhere would buy a position on the off chance it was true - no one has/is

but the company do need to do a (much) better job of attracting new investors, and drum up buying into THG
they has not been a new II invest since Rowe Price (and they then sold at least 1/3 of their position even during the TO month)
JUP and / or another seller ensure that any rise is sold into in, and this can only be corrected by a new buyer.
BOO, ASOS and even AO.com have all managed to attract new II in this time despite numerous profit warnings, bad CSR and press, and issues from these companies

the main issue is simple, no one wants to buy the shares in thg
look at the volumes today vs boo and asc
it is the responsibility of the board and management to sell trheir company to investors and this has been done poorly so far, as shown by small volumes, no new Ii and in fact holders selling such as blackrock, rowe price and jupiter

there is a lot to fix here

thg is now down more than amazon (who have been reported to be briefing analysts in private, that they will miss their numbers, having already issued a profit warning in their last update) and now more vs Boohoo (who rose +9% on Friday vs our +5%)

getting to the point where it is pointless now

found it and read it - cant say I dont disagree with it (quite bearish but fair in todays context, at the time more m&a was around those numbers)
but aside cult, is it fair to say, the other purchases you are inline with? from a strategic and good will POV?

Muscle - I dont see them in your post, but cult was bought for 275m, and has goodwill of 88m, so again not too high, dont you think?
If your main point on overpaying is on Cult, I do agree with you here. The amount paid was far too high and at the peak of valuations etc. Given it is a smaller version of Lookfantastic, I dont understand the deep routed strategic value, and 275m for circa 200+ new brands to retail and an increased customer data list, is an overpayment.
that aside, the other purchases are sound. Bentley added manufacturing and helped the vertical story. Dermstore opened up more exposure to USA which with dollar strength is now very good for reporting earnings.

To be fair Musclehead, the goodwill attributed to all 9 purchases in 2021 was only 329m on a purchase consideration of 826m. Surely you agree this is not overly generous?
