agreed 2 quid is unlikely, but you get my logic - he can match the 170p by just getting funding of 1.4bn - i mean it really is peanuts for a company with revnue of 2.45bn expected this year, and plan to get to 9% ebita (200m )

i dont know tbh - but if he takes it private with sofina and balderton, he only needs to buy out circa 60% max
so circa 800m shares, so at 2 quid a share, its 1.6bn - I would suggest this number isnt out of the realms of impossibility to get hold of
and then if say it was only 1.5 quid, it becomes lower etc

can someone explain to me why we are down 10% on no news and another big director buy

it almost feels like its so Fing personal between the shorts and THG, that when THG surprise them with TO talk or director buys, they then go on the attack and bring the price down even more than before the news

I honestly dont get why they are so aggressive - down 10% now, when boo and asos are half that, its mad

the SP is priced to fail/ go out of business
the new chair who didnt need to buy shares the first or second time, who has full info on the plans and financials, and who run the bid process, has decided that he wants to put a lot (1.5m) of his own money into this company

so this should give confidence that financially all is ok with the company and best to wait for the longer term value to come through

moral is - you cant fight the market. best thing is either get a private TO or get ebitda up to 200m/ 250m and FCF positive asap for the rerate

hey 2phevs - you didnt upset me at all, and thanks for sharing Next report. I am upset with myself for not selling THG at TO time, and upset with my self for hindsight, as I can now see what a troubled company this is in this macro climate

I hope they preserve cash to ride it out - there always were red flags, but I genuinely dont see any positive that THG has as a shareholder.

constant lies (golden share/ premium listing etc)
analysts now all agree value is 50p max
major II selling shares/ no new II buying shares
no director buys since update
shorts not decreasing

it is a crazy valuation but its based on discounted cash flow method and THG makes negative FCF, and the path to neutral and positive is so unclear (I cant see how they can achieve it tbh unless they grow more than 20% and hit 10% ebitda margin)

SOTP valuations were used before hence the lofty valuations

would sell in a heart beat if i could get my initial investment back or near it but so under water

I think the Next report does show how stupid THG are - it is not sustainable for small players to be D2C, and this is why so many have cancelled ingenuity like hotel chocolate/ neales yard/ st tropez et
I m not even convinced its at all sustainable for food and beverage brands like nestle/ unilver / kraft etc hence why none of them use it for their mega products
I think ingenuity and Next's version works for 3rd party fulfilment like Reiss or Gap for Next, and Homebase or Coke (as it is for all their B2B customers too). Matalan also makes sense, so if they can get more of these customers it could pay back
but I very much doubt it now TBH

short term THG is simply a play on whey prices and UK consumer confidence, hence the shareprice destruction

path to project is total optimism - no plan on how thye can get back to 20%+ organic growth

yeah this dog is now screwed - 40-50p is based on 2023 as well on discounted cash flow

plus what is clear is ingenuity is worthless (it made 22m in its commerce divison in H1 22)
at IPO it was positioned as the special sauce
at best, the market may allow THG to trade on between 0.5 to 0.7 earnings if things calm down in 2023/ 2024, so max max (at this is assuming no more dillution) 80-100p per share

this company is utterly univestable
it clearly doesnt work
and shares are used to keep (already sky high wages) down
wish I had listened 6 months ago to the bears and critics of THG
its gone
