The market is reacting like nothing is ever going to be bought in retail ever again.
right so if we assume the world and uk is heading to a recession, that means input costs fall (simple supply and demand, and with demand falling, as long as supply is there, which it should be as has been geared up for the post covid growth, prices fall -you see this on the commodity market at the moment across all input costs esp oil)
so then as input costs fall, the cost of making goods falls, so more profit per unit sold.
the key thing is topline growth, so the results will be key to see if THG is delivering growth inline with plans - if yes, then with input costs down globally (plus specific thg ones such as whey etc) with the 'free' money when exchaning dollar to sterling (knowing USA economy is much more resilient than europe, and THG has good exposure to USA), the SP fall seems farcical.
we are tracking general ecom retail and retail markets, many of which have tiny exposure to USA and dont get the benefit we should
