Indeed, livepari4, it can be tempting to "share" one's success with family & close friends. Some will no doubt have the maturity and self awareness to be happy for you, without it negatively affecting your relationship...others may not see things the same way.

The sells to purchase ratio this morning is almost 2:1. Still some large purchases going through, just seen one for £400k plus. It seems this morning's results have calmed the nerves of the some of the market. Moreover, they clearly demonstrate RR's ability to consistently reach and exceed it's forward guidance figures. This is all the more impressive given the various headwinds (global supply chain issues, uncertainty over tariffs , geo political tensions etc) that the company have faced. Increasingly, it seems like RR is something of a FTSE 100 Unicorn.

I'm having an easy morning & coffee ☕️ with my good lady. I nipped my back moving a lot of concrete products yesterday for a customer's project. However, a couple of Ibuprofen and today's results have taken the edge off the discomfort 😊

Understandably, there's a fair amount of what looks like profit taking this morning. But, plenty of purchases too. I think this morning's results further underlines the robust long term future of RR. All the best everyone 👍

My wife took early retirement last year. I'm hoping to do the same next summer 2026. I'll put my SIPP into drawdown when the SP reaches £16. If it doesn't reach £16, I may do it anyway. I'll be in my early 60's...the building trade is a young man's game 🤣

Re: GE, yes down on results day but up over 4% I the last five days. I try to think medium to long term...it's less stressful 😊

Seen the recent posts, obviously a good deal of speculation being tossed around and a certain amount of anxiety over what will happen to the SP on Thursday. Re: Boeing results today and the SP going south...it's only an airline business & therfore very different to RR multi faceted business model. FWIW I think we'll be fine on Thursday, that's not investment advice. It's based on my belief that RR is still in a transformational stage of its business operations. As each month ticks by, we see new orders, new announcements of collaborations and a recent SP upgrade. RR still has plenty left in the tank...and it's global.

Hi Trello, not sure if you'll have seen the documentary about Ben Katsuyama. He was 24 years old when he started as stock trader in 2002 for The Bank of Canada. Long story short, he worked out that larger firms were creating "speed bumps" in data transmission when transaction orders were placed, that allowed them to ostensibly manipulate the market. Over the years, this resulted in billions of dollars of profits for the "big boys" at the expense of Ben clients along with others. You can read a bit more in the article below:

I too, have wondered about AI trading programs. Although, I would not be tempted to use them myself. I think there are some brilliant minds in the world of tech and finance, however, the AI landscape is in it's infancy and there's still lots of unknown unknowns. I perhaps sound a little old school, but I've been investing for 4 decades and am very happy with what I've been blessed with.

Still here, I'm watching with interest as many factors as I can re: RR. Some here are perhaps in a confirmation bias phase of thinking, ie "surely it cant keep going up" or "this can only continue to rise". I don't consider those type of statements to be mutually exclusive. I think both have an element of truth, yes the SP will continue to rise as RR continues to deliver and exceed market expectations. However, the SP will go through pull backs along the way. This is a very normal part of how the stock market operates.

I've stated a number of times here that I believe RR has much more to offer in terms of it's contribution to the technological revolution that is underway. Consequently, shareholders will be rewarded handsomely for holding long term through the peaks & troughs of the SP ascendancy.

In the meantime, my wife & I are packing for 2 weeks in Kefalonia to celebrate her 60th birthday...shhh, I haven't told you that 😉.
