@Tjblowhard , I bought into RR at £1.50 in spring 2023. I'd done ok prior to that with Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust & then doubled my money with Centrica.

I'd read about Tufan's arrival at RR prior to investing, and that had piqued my interest. He's exceptional in the business leadership world.

I anticipated that RR would "do well", however, when my Investment had trebled in value a year later, I realised something pretty outstanding was underway with the RR business transformation.

I've been invested as each subsequent SP milestone has been reached and breached. We were on holiday when it reached £5 & I remember thinking, "how much higher can this go".

I think there's more visibilty now, as the business transformation has continued at pace and new partnerships have been formed.

Yes, SP's of £6, £7, £8, £9, £10, £11, £12, all "stared back", as if to say "you're wondering how much higher, aren't you"?

We're in uncharted territory, that's for sure. I've never invested in a share like RR before, however, it's proving itself time & time again. It's market is global and it's pedigree is unmatched across it's various disciplines.

So, yes, I too, am of the persuasion that buying in at today's prices, will seem cheap in the coming years...the adventure continues!

@confluence, yes the PE ratio does raise questions. By all the metrics that one would normally apply when appraising a stock, RR ticks all the boxes.

It does make me think whether the trajectory of the SP, might be indicative of RR approaching the foot hills of becoming a momentum stock. Time will tell.

Some of the magnificent seven stocks have much higher PE's...Netflix is around 300. Thoughts anyone?

Bav1975, loving the analogy to your musical past. My good lady & I sing in a country band, which I also play drums in. I'm also sing in a crooner duo.

So yes, great quality equipment is crucial if you're after a great end result. Thanks in part to RR, we've recently bought a couple of Shure SM58, dynamic, radio mics 🎤. They're bullet proof pieces of kit & give a great sound!

The positivity on the comms board this last couple of weeks is really encouraging. I know it's because we all want RR to continue doing well. But there's also the camaraderie & esprit de corp, which is good to be a part of. The lack of green boxes is an indication of the general quality of the conversations, exchange of ideas and the ability to disagree, sometimes robustly without being disagreeable. Long may it continue 😊

morning rollers, rr, bae & bab**** all continuing their push higher this morning. it seems trump has started something again!

It's cause and effect. The rising share price is the effect, the cause is the perception by the markets as to how Donald Trump's latest escapade will play out on the world stage. Ergo, increased anxiety that Europe could face pressure from the US to "give up" certain territory.

Greenland is the most obvious at the moment, why, because it's rich in natural resources. It has a tiny population (less than 60,000). It's main income if from fishing and subsidies from Denmark. Financially it's seen as an easy target by Trump.

I don't anticipate for one second that there would be a military takeover, at least not one that would be recognised as such. Whilst at some point the US military presence may be increased, the real action will be to entice a partnership with Greenland for extraction of their natural resources. Initially, there's likely to be a good level of consternation, but with the promise of a significant rise in the incomes and living standards of a very small population, it's likely to concentrate the minds of this tiny population.

There's also the prospect of conflict now becoming wider spread in South America, hence the defence companies anticipation of a continued ramping up of defence spending.

Oldsid, Donald "drill baby drill" Trump wants a consistently low oil price. He's anti green energy so that's not surprising. However, whether you're a developed or an emerging economy, consistently stable economic growth relies on having low energy prices. Energy prices in the UK are around 5 times that of the US. It's little wonder that British businesses are struggling, if only as a result of energy costs...I digress.

I think there will be minimal impact on the RR SP as a result of the US Venezuela situation. If there is, it's likely to be short lived. Airline and defence stocks may well see an uptick in their SP's.

He's obviously keen to secure the US energy supply for decades to come. It's likely that Greenland are also feeling nervous, watching what's unfolding just now.

As already mentioned, this fly's in the face of international law. Phones will be ringing off the hook at the UN and the EU.

Anyway, the world is watching. It's unclear how this strategy will play out. But if a western style leadership/government is installed and if the oil production infrastructure can be made fit for purpose, then the additional oil production to an already over supplied market, could see the oil price at sub 50 dollars per barrel in a few short years.

That's a very good question retirment. A few months back I called a SP of £16 by results day in August 2026. I'll stay with that.

Good morning retirment, some interesting thoughts.

That sounds like some cognitive dissonance going on there. No criticism intended. I think it's an example of how, not only the RR SP can skew our short term thinking, but how any company's SP can do that.

As humans, we desire predictability and visibility. The SP provides neither. It's merely an indication of supply and demand during a given trading day.

The SP does, however, provide data of historic patterns in it's movement that, when juxtaposed with other metrics can assist in determining whether it's likely to rise or fall. But, again, this is not predictability nor is it visibility. It may seem axiomatic to say it, but, neither of these exist in stock market investing.

That's why it's important to not let a rise of say 3% in one day translate to thinking "this will easily double again this year". Conversely a 3% drop on a given day, should not cause one to think "this is the start of a downward"...it's simply impossible to know.

I've been investing for over 40 years and for nearly half of that time, I made a living advising clients on how to best to invest their own money. I always advised a medium to long term view when allocating funds to participate in equity based investments. For the vast majority it paid off, in some cases handsomely.

RR is no different, the investor who focuses on the medium to long term will, I believe, be rewarded accordingly. This is not investment advice, but my conviction that RR is perhaps, almost uniquely placed to benefit from the global changes that are underway and are likely to continue for some time.

There are some points which make for interesting conversations. One is, the RR PE ratio, another is, "the good news is already baked into the SP". There are others I'm sure, that may well raise certain questions as to the sustainability of the SP's impressive rise since Tufan took the the helm.

We are, i believe, all hard wired to be "inspired by story". That's why we love the books and films that we do. It seems that RR is just a few chapters into, what may well turn out to be one of the 21st century's most compelling reads 📚.
